To celebrate the release of Deadline [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

Zombats. Seriously. Wombats easily get over 40 pounds and they're pretty scary when they're pissed off. But yeah, the kangaroos and cassowaries are really going to be the ones to watch out for, and we're lucky we don't still have all that megafauna.

Fortunately, koalas remain small and "cuddly" (fuck no, I've seen those claws), with the higher end of the weight range being about 26 pounds.

Looks like echidnas are still safe. Also, echidna penises have four heads. Thanks, Wikipedia!

As for the funnelwebs, I will never sleep again, and I'm in Victoria, where they allegedly aren't.
