DEADLINE open thread. Have a party.

To celebrate the release of Deadline [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned.

You can also start a book discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence. I will probably answer a great many comments. I may not answer all of them.

Have fun!

I'm guessing greycoupon drew a connection between the George in Sean's head and the Number 6 and Gaius Baltar that appeared in each other's heads/hallucinations/whatever after they were separated.

It hadn't occurred to me until I saw that question, though. There's a Cylon whose name we never find out who infiltrated the defenses on Baltar's planet by using him. And then that body died while she shielded him from the bombs... Shortly after that, he starts seeing her everywhere, and she talks to him and helps him get out of tight spots. Also threatens him and etc...

Later on, we see the Cylon woman talking to a "Gaius Baltar" doing similar things, helping her work out problems, etc.

There's also a hilarious scene where Gaius sees his OWN ... other self, and talks to him.

And so on. Point is, there's this OTHER CHARACTER in a character's head, appearing as "hallucinations" that help drive parts of the plot.

This is endearing me a little more to BSG.

I gave up watching it partly because I found it oppresively dreary and partly because the whole Baltar hallucinating a Cylon thing was so bugfuck annoying. But if it turns out the Cylon was hallucinating a Baltar, that makes it a bit better.

I've been spoiled for the endign though, enough to know that I shant bother watching it.
