To celebrate the release of Deadline [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

Seanan, you have the ability to make air travel seem even worse, to the point where Shaun seems to think post 9-11 security is nothing.

(No wonder everyone telecommutes -- it's not the zombies, it's the security against the zombies.)

It makes me feel better about modern air travel. Because it's not as bad as it is in this future.

Granted, I don't tend to move much in the plane once I'm seated*, but I do like wandering the terminal when waiting for my flight. And, you know, only having one stupid bit of Security Theater.

* I like the window seats. Given the size of the average aircraft seat, this means I have to fight my way past two people if I need to use the little passenger's room. Having to get an armed flight attendant to escort me as well would just make it worse.

This makes having naked pictures of you or severe public groping look like cake.

I bet nobody flies unless they absolutely have to whatsoever (flower show?!). Blood test to get into and out of the bathroom?!
