In which Seanan is frantic and made of flail, but wanted to say hello.

Aigh! How is it already mid-May? How is it already past mid-May? Seriously, this isn't cool, people. But since life marches on, here are some random updates about things you may want to know.

Wicked Girls T-shirts.
The spreadsheet has been finished and handed off to my lovely assistant, aka, "Deborah," who is now using our peachy-keen new merchandise email address to send out the order confirmations. So if you requested a shirt, you're going to hear from Deborah! She'll be asking you to verify that we have the right information, requesting shipping information, and setting up things so you can pay. Please, please, remember that we must receive payment to place this order. That's why the original post said "cash in the cookie jar." If you can't pay for your shirts, we may have to remove you from the spreadsheet, depending on how long it takes for everyone else to pay.

Welcome to Bordertown about to hit shelves.
The new Bordertown anthology is just about out, and it's amazing. Mia (chimera_fancies) will be doing pendant sales of special Bordertown pendants soon, and there are contests and giveaways and blog tours, oh my! It's an incredible book. If you love urban fantasy, you should absolutely buy this book. This is the city whose foundations informed us all, and it's finally opening its doors again.

Oh, right. Also, Deadline.
I, too, have a new book coming out. Deadline will be released on May 31st, which makes it technically a June book (ah, the wonders of reporting). So you'll be able to buy it from a bookstore near you, and you totally should, especially if you enjoy my cats being full of catfood, and not full of my delicious flesh. They eat a lot! I'll be in New York for the next week, which sadly limits the number of pre-release blog giveaways I can do (having no books as yet, the current number is "zero"), but I'll be doing fun things up until then. Primarily the ongoing, and increasingly grim, countdown to the Rising. You're welcome.

Book Expo America!
Why am I going to New York? For Book Expo America! This is going to be my first BEA, and I'm mad excited. I'll also be seeing friends, eating artisan frozen treats, and visiting both my publishers for an entire day, thus guaranteeing that they'll be sick of me and give me things in order to make me go away and leave them alone. I'm basically an animate mixed blessing. I'm planning to have a fabulous time, because I always do, and when I leave, I'm heading for...

Wiscon!
It's my first time. Be gentle. I'll be mixing drinks at the Whedonistas party, which is good, since I don't like trying to mingle at these things, but I loooooooooooove making mai tais and mojitos. Donations of strawberries gratefully accepted, because I always need more than I think I will. If you're over twenty-one and planning to be at the convention, you should come see the gleeful mania that is me with a cocktail shaker.

Cats.
Blue. Also, fluffy.

Monster High.
New dolls should be hitting the shelves ANY DAY NOW, and the search is driving me batty. The universe needs to stop taunting the happy fun blonde and gimme already, before my already strained patience decides that the time has come to snap.

...and that's my status for the day. How's by everybody else?

Are you doing any signings or official appearances at Book Expo?
I'm signing Wednesday afternoon, at Hatchette!

If any T-shirts end up being left over due to insufficient cookie-jar-fundage, please add me to the list. I missed the ITSO (Initial T-Shirt Offering) and would love to give one or two as gifts.
What would you be wanting to get? Check the original post for specifications, but comment here. I may be able to add you to the spreadsheet.

T-shirt?

Re the feeding of kittehs. We like you in one piece so you can write more awesome books so Deadline is preordered via the iBookstore (can't wait to delete the e-arc and change the font size!)

Annoyingly it's not out on that in the US till June 1st and 2nd in the UK. /Sigh.
Weird.
Did you hear that the CDC acknowledged zombies in their latest blog entry, and how to survive the forthcoming zombie Apocalypse? It's so popular that it has crashed their blog!

Is this some kind of PR event for your book's release? ;)
Man, I wish I had Seanan's agent.

I've preordered Deadline!
Yay!
Excited about the new book.

Also about new Monster High dolls. Of course, I'm still trying to get all of the original set.
They're getting easier to find as new dolls approach.
A strange middling sort of day.

Looking though preorders with Amazon I have 3 of your books, 1 of Jim Hines and one of Kelley Armstrong.

Will you ever head over to the UK or do we have to win a worldcon bid and get you on the hugo nomination list ?

I'll definitely be there for London WorldCon in 2014, assuming it wins the bid. I'd like to make it over before then; we shall see.
I look forward to seeing you at Wiscon!
Yay!
I'm still immensley pleased with myself that I guessed the working title of Scalzi's new book at his reading on Monday night here in Portland at Powell's books.

I prefer to think about that than how the day job has been for the last week.
This works for me.
I want pictures of you bar tending! The very idea makes me happy for some reason.

Is the 31st a hard or soft release date? (It would help to know this before I email Other Change of Hobbit and ask about the chance of copies being available at Baycon. If it's a hard date, I won't trouble them.)

Edited because I can't spell today.

Mmmmm... mojitos. Do you use less sugar or simple syrup for the strawberry ones? Or just have the be sweeter due to the strawberry goodness...

... I am thinking of making cherry mojitos this summer when the cherries come into season.
Just a little sweeter due to the strawberry goodness.
Breathe deep, and do not destroy the world out of flail.

For distraction, here's a Zombie Apocalypse Wedding Cake.
Yay!
Thank you for relieving my worry-wart tendencies with this post. I somehow had misread things to think that the t-shirt emails should have all been sent by the 16th, and was holding off on being a pest for a couple more days since you all might've been running behind.

Also, yay for Deadline! It comes out on my birthday! And it isn't the only thing I've been looking forward to that does.
It took longer to put the list together than I anticipated, because there were more orders than anticipated. It's circular.
I know I'll be getting Deadline as soon as I can get my grubby little mitts on it. And it's close enough to my birthday that I can kind of look at as an early present to myself.
Yay!
Excited for the tshirts!

Mia (chimera_fancies) will be doing pendant sales of special Bordertown pendants soon

Oh yay! I was just thinking the other day I want to buy a second pendant, since I wear the one I bought from the Rosemary and Rue auction all the time, but red and blue doesn't match everything.
And the Bordertown stuff is GORGEOUS.
Don't forget we're going shopping in October! But there will totally be new dolls then for Halloween, right?
If you have not already seen this, you must: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/18/zombie-apocalypse-the-cdc_n_863900.html

Also, I would appreciate a signal boost for the Southern Fried Weirdness anthology http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/59532 I have two pieces in it. Proceeds go to Red Cross tornado disaster relief.
I'll put it on the list.
Seeya at Book Expo!
Yay!
So much yay!!! Especially Wiscon! Which night are you bartending? Unfortunately I'll only be there Saturday (mostly working the MuseCon party), but am hoping to at least get a quick chance to say hi (of course with huggles if your duties allow *grin*).

Sooj next week! Then Seanan! Then Deadline! Plus shirts! Yes, happy happy xap :)
I will be there Saturday, and bartending Sunday.

Your life is busy! My life is busy! There is so much busy going around! And now we sleep.
Yessssssssssssssssss. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
Since the biosphere remains un-ignited, I have kept my part of the bargain and preordered 2 copies of each of your new books Amazon knows are coming real soon now. One for me, one for the Olympic training center. My son left Florida today to drive back to Colorado for his summer and fall of mile high training. I'm sure he will want to train in Florida when the snows come.
Thank you!
I can't remember what the result was but if you don't already have it
http://www.threadless.com/product/2094/We_ve_Got_Some_Work_To_Do_Now
threadless is having a $12 sale
I do not have it, but alas, I drowned in comments and missed the sale. :(
