T-minus 14 days to DEADLINE.

Reston, Virginia, July 10th, 2014.

The sound of the front door slamming brought Alexander Kellis out of his light doze. He'd managed to drift off on the couch while he was waiting for John to come home with dinner—the first time he'd slept in days. His first feeling, once the disorientation passed, was irritation. Couldn't John be a little more careful? Didn't he know how exhausted he was?

Then he realized that he didn't hear any footsteps. Annoyance faded into concern. "John?" Alex stood, nudging his glasses back into place as he started, warily, toward the foyer.

We cut because, for many people, this is when things start getting unpleasant. You have been warned.Collapse )

I think my icon just about sums up my feelings.
:(
As soon as you mentioned the blood on the wall, I started swearing under my breath.

John starts talking, and I breathe a sigh of relief - not a zombie.

Then my brain catches up with me, and I remember that John's still dying, and it's just. Not. Fair.

I told myself going in with these snippets not to get attached, since I already know that it doesn't end well, but Alex and John are just so damn likeable, and I got all attached anyway, and... *sob*.
*wibbles*

I knew that people were going to die horribly, but I'm still sitting here shocked and horrified.
These (absolutely-friggin-awesomely-written) snippets have me caring so much about these two men. Sooooo sad.
For a moment, when he groaned, I was so scared
