A few interviews for a Saturday morning.

I have a story, "Julie Broise and the Devil," in the book Night-Mantled: The Best of Wily Writers, vol. 1. In preparation for the release, all of the authors included in this book were interviewed by Angel, our editor.

Here is her interview with me.

Learn fun things! Watch me answer silly questions! Enjoy the traditional interview format!

But what's that, you say? You're tired of the traditional interview format? You want to see it mixed up a little bit, rendered new and interesting again? Well, you're in luck, because Erin from Toasted Cheese (and my comics) decided to interview me-as-Mira using a fascinating new format that looks something like the bastard child of a pop quiz and an internet meme.

You can read my Toasted Cheese alphabet interview here.

Go forth, and be amazed as freedom to say whatever I want leads to some things you may not have heard me say seventeen times already!

And that's our interviews for the morning.

You know, every time I read anything about you and snakes in the same sentence, I want to plan a con in the area where I grew up. You know, SC is the only state with all 4 kinds of poisonous snakes native to the US...also, both Brown Recluse and Black Widows live there...and, for the Trifecta, the area is within the 60-mile radius where Venus FlyTraps are native. What better place to have the World's First SeananCon!

(Sometimes, my brain is a scary place!)
...Also, who'd have thought the Mira interview would leave me rooting for MORE stress for you, and your NEVER getting to write X-men?!?! (Gotta keep you in this dimension, Kiddo!)
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Snakes.
Enjoyed both interviews. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for reading!

I've written quite a bit set in Rush's Bend, actually. It's just a matter of publishing it. Deeply rural fantasy is a bit hard to move right now.
dduane is one of my favorite authors and I have been reading the young wizard books for over 20 years. She has a 25% off sale (http://dduane.livejournal.com/193036.html) at her ebook shop in aid of paying for the kidney-friendly cat food.
Thank you for this notice. I would have missed it otherwise.
Thank you for the link.

Saw this post on Twitter from @YoungFineWine another writer:

Coming soon, the story of Samantha Rose, a young lesbian struggling with her sexuality and where she fits into... http://fb.me/woguvDEq

Anyway, I don't know if you'd be interested, or you have contact information for the writer who'd story was bounced, but it sounds like they are a lot more accepting. I've traded a lot of messages with Denise (@YoungFineWine) and like her a lot.

Argh - that was supposed to say 'who's' not 'who'd'

Sorry - too damned excited. I got hired today to write some technical computer articles for an online journal. Pay isn't great, but it will get my name out there...

I really really really resonate with your answer for "O" in the Toasted Cheese interview.
My imaginary friend is named Dana, and I've lived with her for... *counts* oh damn, about sixteen years. Since I was 16. And hers is the first book I wrote. One of my biggest fears is that people will hate Dana's book, and I won't be able to do anything except, as you said, "Oh, yeah? Well, I don't like your talking banana!"
It can be hard sometimes, but mostly people dislike me, and that helps. :)
That is a good thing to know.

Mom was right, I'll need a tough skin (and to not read Amazon reviews).
Thank you for the update & the links Seanan!
Very welcome.
My teenage self would like to put up a poster of you in his bedroom. Even if it meant having to take down one of the Ranma 1/2 posters to make room.
That's the sweetest thing anyone has said to me in ages.
I love the term "why-porn"! I hadn't encountered it before, but it fits, and it is totally my kink.
And that's why we get along so well!
Sadly, "Firefox can't find the server at www.toasted-cheese.com." and I really wanted to read that one being an avid Mira Grant fan! ;-p

Also, I liked the first interview once I loaded it into Readability because I found it illegible on that site otherwise. I have screencaps and have left a comment there offering them the screencaps.
It seems to be working now? Give it another go.
Same error here for me, I am afraid. Ah well. Not your site/fault!
