That is gorgeous! The very word I was thinking even before you said it.

What I love best about the Toby covers is that she's not the expected image of the doe-eyed waif in a filmy dress. She looks like someone you could find in some dive bar, drinking a beer and not getting hit on because the guys are too intimidated by her glare, and yet she's clearly inhuman in a very striking way.

I especially love the colors here, and the way the light plays off the water, although for a second there I didn't even notice the tail.

Gorgeous. I guess Toby's koi years have come back to haunt her.

I am going to try this weekend to get my brother's girlfriend interested in the Toby books. And if I have luck with those, the Newsflesh trilogy.

ETA: Are those band-aids on her left hand? Or is that the light?

Whoa! That's a mermaid tail!!!!

And talk about different! All the other covers have been dark, blues and purples and blacks and such. This, no!

Impressive, but startling. I shall have to get used to it! :)

I actually really like it, at least in part because we're dealing with a whole different part of Faerie in this book (the Undersea), which makes a shift in color palette perfect for my artistic little heart.

You are so lucky to have a cover artist who actually reads your books (and seems to like them based on the awesome art).

I think LE is still my favorite cover, but it's really close.
