We are who we are, we love who we love. Goodnight, world.

This is a rare thing which I am sharing with you; a moment of peace and tranquility the likes of which happens only for a few seconds at a time, and even then, only when the moon is right, and the tide is low, and the world holds its breath.

Behold:

That's Alice closest to camera, with Thomas in the middle, and Lilly on the end. As is always the case with me, the picture is a few weeks old at this point; Thomas is almost twice as big now as he was when this picture was taken (I think shortly after Arisia).

I hope that all is well in your world, and that something makes you as happy as these three balls of vicious blue fluff make me.

When my husband and I went shopping for a new bed last year to replace the king bed his parents had given us, I suggested a queen because it might allow more room in the bedroom. He stared at me and said, "Honey, with our cats we would never be able to sleep on a queen. The cats would kick us out."

So we settled on a king-sized pillowtop hybrid of memory foam, latex, steel spring, and bamboo fibers. The cats adore it because of course we bought it for them. They will occasionally sleep in our spots and refuse to move.
Risu will curl up in the spot just under my pillow, where my shoulder usually rests at night. If I try to move her, she'll whine and fuss, and sometimes try to bite me.

It's cute and all, and I have managed to squeeze into the spot between her and Josh, but it's overall rather inconvenient for sleep.
Cats own beds.

True fact.
Indeed they do. We just rent space on them.
