I don't really need four copies for my very own. So...
In my essay, I talk about my love of Buffy, and how it helped me grow into myself as both a fannish adult and a professional author. Others talk about finding community through the Browncoats, or the treatment of good and evil in Angel, or the Hero's Journey of Dr. Horrible. If you're a Whedon fan, you probably have a story of your own. Tell it! Be as detailed or as brief as you like. On Friday, I shall unleash our old friend, Random Number Generator, to pick two winners, each of whom* will receive a copy of Whedonistas.
The book officially comes out next Tuesday, so even if you don't win, you should absolutely pick up a copy for the Whedon fan in your life. Or in your head. Whatever floats your boat.
Game on!
(*North American entries only, please, unless you're willing to pay postage. I just can't afford it right now, I'm sorry.)

I came late to the party--I never saw Buffy on television. When I did borrow the DVDs from a friend, I sat for three days in front of the television without sleep, going from one disc to the next without stopping for anything except the bathroom. Good thing I was on vacation at the time--I don't think 'watching Buffy 1-7' is a good reason to call in sick to work.
I started writing fanfic the second the credits rolled on the last disc.
I don't think that there's much that Joss has created that I didn't like.
I found myself, I found LiveJournal, I found a few good friends and started a fic archive thanks to Joss' dream world. I found a voice as a writer, although I haven't moved to original fiction-yet. I found a niche within society, finally.
It opened me up to a whole world of people and ideas that were never available to me before and I loved (and still love) every second. :D
