I'm a Barbie girl...with a shotgun.

Tara, who is my good and loving and tolerant friend, and who does all the graphics for my website, is also a Barbie customizer. She takes normal, every day dolls and turns them into geek icons, like NCIS's Abby Sciuto, or damn near EVERY CHARACTER EVER to appear in an episode of Star Trek. I? Think this is awesome. And that, friends and neighbors, is why I asked Tara to make me a Barbie.

An Alice Price-Healy Barbie. Behold:

Alice! She has the head of an Aquamarine Birthstone Beauty, the right arm of a Hard Rock Barbie, and the body of a Harley-Davidson Barbie. Her shirt is an old, old piece of Ken's wardrobe; her tank top is Barbie Basics; and her hot camouflage pants are proof that she's more awesome than your Barbie. Oh, and did we mention the weapons? She has a shotgun, pistols, grenades, knives, smoke bombs, and a 1:6 scale machete. Yes. BARBIE WITH A MACHETE.

Alice knows what you're thinking. Alice doesn't approve.

My dolls rule!

Sadly, finding Barbie heads with pointed ears is hard.
as a point, i used to know a person who'd made mods to D&D minis for so long, she decided to see if she could mod Barbie.
the EASIEST mod is giving pointed ears - apparantly, if one is at ALL capable and crafty, and gets the right clay [or whatever] pointed ears are easier than making a smiley-face.

that was all - just that point :)
That does sort of require you to work clay. Neither Tara nor I does. And those sort of customs are borderline-impossible to play with.
ah. sorry - i'm so anti-crafty [if you want, i'll tell you how making an athame that SHOULD have taken 45 minutes, tops, took me two days and another $100...] that i just always assume that crafty-type people can do EVERYTHING. i DO know better, but i still just think "oh, person X sews clothing, she can probably throw a pot for me, because i want to give my mom a custom-thrown pot". and said person then looks at me as if i'm crazy, and...

but, hey, i can run karaoke! as in, business-wise AND entertainment-wise! [not NOW, i can't, disability is currently winning - but when i did,] i had the BEST and BUSIEST karaoke on tuesday night in all of central Ohio, for several years. i can, if i'm "there" in the right place, name most songs from about 4 notes or a single line of lyrics. i can futz with the mic settings and make one NOT be flat/sharp. so - other people can craft. i can run karaoke :)

but it might be an idea, for later endevors - say, you run into some who REALLY wants a Toby [or someone else] and can do the EARS, but is clueless on the clothing, or pulling together disparate Barbies.

then, you have a GREAT side-business :)
but, while it'd ROCK, i'm here for the BOOKS. so if you never wanna, cuz of all the aformentioned reasons, i'll still be here for the BOOKS :D
Hee.

Awesome.
