LATE ECLIPSES open thread. Have a party.

To celebrate the release of Late Eclipses [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned.

You can also start a book discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence.

Have fun!

Ooops.

Sorry about that.
There are worse things in the world! One of my other favorite authors has a very good book with enough accurate description of disordered eating patterns that means that I'm very glad that it was re-released electronically and that I bought a copy so that I can at some point go through line by line and make it safe to re-read at any time, not just when I'm prepared to read it. It is still a very good book, it is just not compatible with the inside of my head at all times. And then there is another book that I read when I was about twelve and would have loved to have loved, because it was fun in so many ways -- but the protagonist was so smugly misogynistic and you could just tell that the author probably thought he was so progressive and also edgy -- so basically the thing I regret about that book is that I did not actually pitch it across the room. And compared to both of those, gory murder is just gory murder, you know?

When it comes to horror movies, I am the one firmly attached to someone's arm, if I am not the one behind the couch with the maglite. I have a very nice one. It's not as big as the one I used to have. Maybe I should keep it next to me when reading books where things jump out of corners.
