Best book yet!

There was one thing I didn’t quite understand though. Exactly what was Tybalt’s logic behind kissing Toby? I know he said that it was so the gossips would have something else to talk about besides their acquaintance but I would have thought public kissing would only bring more attention to their relationship?
If I had been watching in the court I would have guessed that they had been having an affair that had just ended badly.
And if it ended badly the gossips would assume the two wouldn't be working together anymore. I thought he was trying to play down just how close they've become by this point. You don't want to advertise all of your allies, Wild Cards are handy every now and again.
Cool. I thought maybe I was reading it wrong since I read it way faster than I usually do.
Also, he did make that nasty comment to the effect of "there, now you are paid in full" after kissing Toby. My mind is a blank or I would toss off at least a couple of references to fairy tales where a single kiss was considered a more-than-adequate payment for difficult services rendered.

So if {court point of view} Tybalt considers himself a sexy, sexy god -- he IS a king, after all -- and Tybalt lays an intense kiss on the changeling (she IS half mortal, after all), and makes contemptuously clear that the kiss is final payment for a debt (I say, Grisabelle, didn't you tell me that Sylvester's pet changeling was seen clearing up some Cait Sidhe trouble, back a season or so ago?) ... well, serves the changeling right for not bargaining for more durable rewards, doesn't it, and oooo the temper on that one!
That was kind of how I interpreted it... along with the {court point of view} implication that the only way Tybalt would *ever* kiss a *changling* (ew gross!) is in payment of a debt.
Everybody else pretty much got it right in their answer to you. My work here is done. :)
