To celebrate the release of Late Eclipses [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

First, unformed thoughts:

I loved seeing more of the inner workings of Shadowed Hills - everyone in that dutchy is fascinating, and only partly because they all seem to be various kinds of insane.

I'm impressed with Quentin's growing up enough to be willing to bust Toby from the Queen's prisons - that's pretty hardcore rulebreaking for a kid so obsessed with protocol.

I also maybe had a hard time concentrating on anything else in the book after the image of Tybalt holding kittens.

Toby needs to take Raj with her and Quentin to the roller-coaster therapy outing. Roller coasters always help.

I am sorry to contradict you, but there are things that even roller coasters can't help.

You just have to live through them one day, and one night, at a time.

Roller coasters do not erase tragedy, I admit. But Raj is also under what seems like an almost unbearable amount of pressure and expectations as Tybalt's future replacement, and I think having some time where he could act like a kid instead of a prince would do him a lot of good.

I think he might enjoy that a lot. But putting it off a couple of weeks might be a good idea.
