1 thing I have learned.

Monday is almost over. Tomorrow is Tuesday, March 1st, which makes it the official release date for Late Eclipses [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], the fourth of the adventures of October "Toby" Daye. This is the first book that wasn't part of my original contract. I'm excited and I'm terrified and I'm really grateful that you haven't all thrown things at me for doing this countdown. And now, for our last entry, I give you one big thing I learned from Late Eclipses.

You can always get better.

Every time you think you've already reached the bottom of the well, that you've found all your frog princes and golden balls, you can dive a little deeper, scrape away a little more of the muck, and find your way to another clear, cool spring. Every time you think "that's it, my best work is behind me," you can stretch a little further, and you can find something you didn't know that you were capable of.

Faith and trust and pixie dust will get you a long way. Work and dreams and testing seams will get you even further.

Thank you all so much for being here.

Happy release day! Even if it hasn't hit your timezone yet. :)
Thank you!
Hurray for book day!
It's the most wonderful day of the year.
I have no idea how releases go on Kindle, but I've pre-ordered it and am sort of hoping that it downloads to my Kindle at the stroke of midnight.

Because that would be COOL.

But no, it will probably be noon. Because that's midnight somewhere ELSE, so it still "counts."
Actually, 3am EST, because the servers are on Pacific time. :)
And some of us have even waited up for it. (Ok, I couldn't this time, but I did last time.)

happy release day
Thank you!
Word. And happy release day! I know where I'm going after work tomorrow. *happy dance*
Yay!
Thank you for a reason to leave the house tomorrow.
Very welcome.
I thought I would stop by and let you know that we got copies today of Late Eclipses at the store, they are waiting to be shelved in the morning. (Except for mine which is on my desk waiting for me to buy it in the morning! *squee*) (Why, yes, I am buying another, why would you ask?)
Hooray!
"...I'm really grateful that you haven't all thrown things at me..."

Well, I'd throw money at you, but (1) I don't think I could get it that far, (2) I don't think that's the kind of 'things' you were thinking of anyhow, and (3) I'm saving it for this book that's coming out tomorrow...
Hee.
I get Late Eclipses AND an Emilie Autumn concert tomorrow. I'm a lucky girl!

Also, thank you for the wonderful advice. It's hard to feel like I'm improving at anything I want to improve at on a day-by-day basis, but when I look back on years and years I've spent on things like writing, music, etc...yeah, there's improvement :)
Amusingly, I didn't put together that this comment would = we'd be at the same concert. So that's both awesome and funny!
Joyous release day!

And thank you for taking us along on the ride!
Very welcome!
I looked at the week, realized there was no way I was getting to a bookstore before Sunday, and I preordered the e-book.

Probably going to pick up a physical book on Sunday also, 'cause of my obessessive need to keep all of a series together.

I have successfully convinced myself that I don't need to stay up until midnight for the hope that it will be available then... but I can't vouch that I will be able to sleep on the train tomorrow.
YAY.
Amazon UK delivered mine yesterday -- while still telling me "Might be April, guv, if yer lucky" on the website. It would really help if they would just talk to themself (then again I talk to myself a lot and that just gets me strange looks)...

Toby inna dress onna cover! I bet she hates that...
And today brought me Zombiesquee..

I am going to be reading my ebook at midnight plus one minute, I have my ereader charging even as I type.

Sleep? What is this sleep of which you speak?
I don't know either!

Yay!
In another part of the ebook forest, I got up just now (2am central) for the usual reason those of us who are middle aged do.

And because I'm a geek, I checked my Nook, and the Mar 1 release preorders had flipped from Preorder to New.

So I downloaded Late Eclipses and want uber geek credit.

However, while I do want the book, I am going back to sleep for the moment.

I shall enjoy it at leisure. (Tomorrow happens by lovely chance to be my birthday.
I approve of sensibly going back to sleep. And happy birthday!
This advice/thoughts/ruminations is so spot on.

Faith and trust and pixie dust will get you a long way. Work and dreams and testing seams will get you even further.

So true, in many ways. Happy book release day! Can't wait to read it.
Thank you!
Happy release day!
Thank you!
This is a most helpful thing to learn, and beautifully expressed. Thank you.

Also, it's March 1st here already - happy release day! ♥
Glee!
The countdown was interesting and fun.

I'm so excited for you and I hope this sells wonderfully well.
Thank you. :)
Hooray for the release! (Boo that the bookstore is so far away that I can't make it today, with the other obligations I have. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday. *sob*)
Yay release day!
It's Tuesday in Australia!

I didn't pre-order, but I did just order a copy this evening (Book Depository) and hopefully it will be here in a week. Can't wait.
Yay!
Guess where I'm headed straight after work? *g*

(I have a coupon! I have been saving it for weeks for THIS BOOK! \o/)
Yay!

Thanks!
Dude, AWESOME.
I'm about to see how good my self-discipline is. My intent is to save Late Eclipses to use as an airplane book in April. (The fact that I'm spending my evenings in rehearsal will help.)
Good luck!
