I have a book coming out! Let's give stuff away!

It's time for my exciting Book Four GIVEAPALOOZA!!!! (Cue iCarly excited crowd noises.) Because Late Eclipses drops in just eleven days, I want to get everybody excited through the most basic means available to me:

Giving things away.

Specifically, I am giving away six books: two copies each of Rosemary and Rue (book one, for beginners!), An Artificial Night (get caught up!), and Late Eclipses (because new releases are awesome!). This giveaway is open only to North American addresses, unless you indicate in your entry that you're willing to pay postage. I'm really sorry about that, I just can't afford to both give books away and ship them overseas.

So here's how this will work:

1. Leave a comment on this entry. Leave it on the entry, please, not in response to another comment (replies to comments cannot win).
2. Indicate which book you want.
3. Indicate why you want it. Be as factual or as ridiculous as you like. Is it your birthday? Do you plan to encase it in amber and throw it in the ocean? Are termites involved? Have a party!
4. If you are outside North America, and willing to pay postage, include this in your comment.

...and that's all. The winners will be selected by our old friend, Random Number Generator, on Tuesday, February 22nd.

Game on!

ETA: Guys, remember, An Artificial Night is book THREE. I sadly do not have any copies of book two in this giveaway, and if you try to read book three or four without reading books one and two, you're going to be really, really confused.

Late Eclipses, please! Because I have been excited for it to come out since I read books 2 and 3 last fall. And because it is absolutely my favorite cover by far of the four.
I have been refreshing my Amazon tracking all day and it finally says that A Local Habitation and An Artificial Night are on my doorstep right now! So I would like to enter myself in the running for Late Eclipses, please, because I have only read the first one but am already addicted.

And if you just give it to me, I wouldn't have to choose between admitting to my husband I bought more books again, or trying to sneak them in without him noticing, or bluffing it off like everybody does it and I Don't Have A Problem. I could be like: "It was a gift from the author," and I could put it in a place of honor nowhere near his beer bottle autographed by Gunnar Hansen.
I would like a copy of Late Eclipses, because I am in the middle of An Artificial Night, and knowing the next book is coming to me will make me MAKE the time to finish An Artificial Night before one or both of us grow old and die.
I want Late Eclipses, because I can't get enough of Toby's hijinks! Alos it would put me one step ahead of my friends.
I'd like Late Eclipses, because I want to know what happens next!
Late Eclipses because my birthday falls on the week before AND so my cats can chew on it and try to dig though the cover
I would like Rosemary and Rue because I just found you today at a friend's suggestion and haven't read anything yet! Your post reccing urban fantasy novels won my heart and I had to friend you! ♥
I'd love Late Eclipses, because the series makes me happy to be a folklore scholar (I have a completely useless MA in Early and Middle Welsh Prose and Poetry) living in San Francisco (each time I recognize a new faery-type, I squeal happily, and then scurry off to research the ones I don't), and any new book in a series that makes me happy is a Good Thing! Not to mention, I want a Rose Goblin for my very own... *grin*

Thanks for doing this!

~Kris
I would love Late Eclipses because I own the first two books and owning those and the fourth would encourage me to buy the middle one. Because I don't like missing books in the middle. It makes it difficult to re-read a series as fast as I would like.
If it won't hurt to Not start at the beginning, I'd be thrilled to win ARTIFICIAL NIGHT. My reasoning is purely selfish: I think the odds are more in my favor if I request ARTIFICIAL NIGHT and I'm anxious to (finally) read something you've written.

Now, if it is important to start at the beginning, I'd be delighted to get a stab at winning Rosemary and Rue.

I got one -- only one -- gift for my b-day in December, probably because it's so close to Christmas. But I think others with missed birthday or upcoming birthdays are probably more worthy of this gift.

I am delighted with your generous spirit and your willingness to give away these books. I've no doubt they're marvelous, dah-ling, ma-velous; I'd like to see for myself. ;)

Thank you for doing this.
It actually would really, really hurt to Not Start At The Beginning; I'm putting you in for Rosemary and Rue. :)

I want Late Eclipses but mostly for my husband. Don't get me wrong, I'll totally read it and enjoy it, but he needs to read it so that he can produce more wacky Toby filk. Did I mention we have a better recording of Luidaeg ttto: Love Shack now? (The Orycon version, my camera failed mid record. At Conflikt, they did it Karaoke style, with Jovanie and Anne.)

Also, it would help defeat the February Curse, and be an excellent late birthday present for me. Or an early birthday present for him.
I'm both curious and terrified about the Luidaeg song. Is there somewhere I can find it?

I'd like Rosemary and Rue so that we can addict more of our friends, and because it would look so cute under our bookworm:

I would love a copy of Late Eclipses, because my best friend and I have been trading predictions and guesses and ideas about what might happen in the next books for months, and I need to know whether we're right!

(A free copy won't stop me from buying a second copy... but that will be the lending copy. Or maybe I'd give it away.)
I'd like Late Eclipses because I've reread the other Toby books so many times they're falling apart. I need a new one to devour before the first three decide to mutiny and kill me in my sleep. That, and I can't wait to find out what happens next!
I would be over the moon for Rosemary and Rue because I really only 'know' you through lj and have a notion that your books must kick ass. And a girl in a Life Rut can never have too many ass-kicking authors on her bookshelves.
Oh, and my library doesn't carry you which I feel should earn some sympathy from Random Number Generator.

I'm just saying...
I want Late Eclipses! Because I have been counting down the days to this book and cannot wait to find out what happens.

My birthday is soon, does that count?
I would love a copy of Late Eclipses. I want it for so many reasons but the main ones are that it is the next book in the series and I really have loved the series and want to see what happens to everyone and what they do next. If I don't win it I will buy it myself, of course :).

I would love Late Eclipses because I need my Tybalt fix :)
I'd very much like a copy of Late Eclipses - I am poor student and routine paperback purchases don't fit with my budget (Though I'll probably end up buying it eventually... I own the first three after all!)
Oooh, I'd like a copy of Rosemary and Rue so that I can start a collection of the series, which I've read at my local library since I've been on a REALLY TIGHT budget. (Being a writer, you wouldn't know anything about that...! ;D)
I would love a copy of Late Eclipses. I have read the previous three and loved them!
I would so very much love a copy of Lat Eclipses, 'cause after I tear though Feed, which I intend to this weekend, I'm gonna do the same with An Artificial Night to get caught up, and I'm gonna need another Toby fix. Man, that crash is *rough*
Meh, *Late Eclipses. It was a long day at work...
I will happily find a home for an artificial night as hopefully I can convince you to sign it, then I will have to buy another copy of the first two books so I can have a set to lend to people....
