LATE ECLIPSES ARC giveaway #3: Just the FAQs.

Whee! Time for another ARC giveaway! Once again, I'm giving away an ARC of Late Eclipses, the fourth book in the October Daye series, which comes out in twenty-seven days. So you could get an early chance to find out what's going on! Also, I'm actually giving away two books this time. Curious? Read on!

If you've been to my website recently, you may have noticed that my Toby FAQs are a trifle, well, sparse. Whole books are missing. Since I'm getting ready to shuffle things around to make room for InCryptid, I'd like to fix this. So here's what you need to do to enter today's ARC giveaway:

1) Leave a comment on this entry containing a suggested question for one of my FAQs. FAQ-type questions only, please, like "Is the date at the beginning of An Artificial Night correct?" or "Why has Quentin's hair changed color?", not "Will Toby and Tybalt ever get together?" or "Is there going to be a movie?"

2) Leave the comment on its own, please, not as a reply to someone else's comments. Comments on comments can't win, even if they have the BEST QUESTION EVER.

3) That's all.

Now here's the twist: I will be choosing two winners. One will be chosen by the random number generator, cruel mistress that it is, and the other will be chosen by me, based purely on my personal "that's the BEST question" reaction. Also, I will use your questions to improve the FAQ, so really, everybody wins.

I will choose a winner at 2PM PST on Tuesday, February 8th.

Game on!

Why aren't there more power struggles amongst the changelings? Are they just not powerful enough, or do they lack the ambition?

We're told that Toby's the only changeling to aspire to and achieve the status of knight, yet when she was given that title (I hope we get to learn more about that, by the way!) she was still supposedly quite weak, magically. It just occurs to me that if there's classism between changelings and purebloods, shouldn't more of them aspire to become knights or attempt to elevate themselves socially or even stage a coup like Devin?

Vive la revolution! ;) Lol.
Mostly, they're not powerful enough. Toby didn't aspire to the title of knight; she wound up with it, and got looked upon as a traitor by a lot of changelings as a consequence.
Does everybody's magic smell like a mixture of two things?
Nope. Weaker changelings sometimes smell like only one.
Why do the Fey ask changelings which world they choose to live in when they do? If you were to ask them when they are younger, they would be filled with a child's sense of adventure at the idea; if they waited for only a few months after the power manifests, they would have a better sense of what their ability means, for good or ill. (This would require some careful supervision.) Asking when they do, all they ensure is that they are at their most confused and frightened.

Of course, I may have just answered my own question.
Yeah.

Sadly, you pretty much did.
Are bridge trolls immune (or at least, less susceptible) to iron? Hence, Danny's rollicking about in the cab...? (Am I remembering correctly that Danny's a bridge troll?)
They're somewhat resistant. Also, Danny's cab has been heavily rebuilt by his Gremlin mechanic, and contains less iron than you might think.
By that reasoning, Gremlins are more iron-resistant... Of course, from what I remember of the old Warner Bros cartoons, they don't give a fig about iron content... At least, not the Gremlins from the Kremlin...
Yes.

They are.
Do the regional Courts control and subdivide all the intervening space or are there significant areas of non-aligned territory? If that is indeed the case what is Fae society(if any) like in said areas?
There are no areas that aren't at least controlled by a High King or Queen; places without a more local ruler tend to be a little...free-wheeling.
