LATE ECLIPSES ARC contest!

It's time for another ARC giveaway, this one requiring slightly more effort than the usual "random draw." I've noticed that there's always a spike in book orders right after I post pictures of one or more of my cats being adorable with a book (expect pictures of Thomas with An Artificial Night in the near future). So we're doing pet photography again! The rules:

1. Take a copy of my book.
2. Take a pet (your own, or someone else's, although you should ask before borrowing the neighbor's cat).
3. Take a picture.
4. Post the picture.

Entries will be taken until the morning of Monday the 24th, at which point I will use the random number generator to choose from amongst the eligible submissions. I reserve the right to award a second prize if there's a picture that just slays me, like if someone gives a copy of Feed to a tiger or gives a copy of Rosemary and Rue to a dolphin. Be creative, have fun, and show me your pets!

(Yes, small children in cat costumes count as pets for purposes of this contest, but they have to be yours.)

Kitty has a book.

Kitty wonders if book is for nomming.
I too have terrible allergies and no one to borrow a pet from. So here is Perry the Platypus and a stuffed Mad Cow prion with Feed.

PERRY! <3
Hey Giant Microbes! I have so many of these, I think I'm missing Mad Cow though.
Just so you know, this made me very, very happy.

Oh there you are, Perry!
The best thing here is the vague feline disdain.

This is our dangerous basement cat. She likes to curl up with a pair of feet to warm (in this case my husbands) and good book.
She is skeptical of my attempts to photograph and defies me desire to take HER book.

That last pic was a little small.

That's adorable!
"FEED ME," they said. So I did.

Omnomnom

Then they yelled, "MOAR, MOAR!"

As above, so below
...Dangit. it didn't resize em like I asked it to. Silly kitty-pics have a mind all o' their own.
Pictures of Henry, my three-legged pointer, taken with crappy cell phone camera.

Henry with all of my Toby books. Plus, in that wrapping paper, ALH and AAN, to be given to a friend of mine when she gets back from overseas.

Aww, look at the cute candidate for virus amplification. Henry with the book that taught me that if the zombie apocalypse comes, cute or not he will be shot.
Sadly time constraints prevented me from driving across the city to borrow my parents' dogs (my usual pets for the pet fix), so I made do with my virtual pets:

(full-sized version here)

All Care Cthulhus know the way to Babylon by candlelight. It takes them rather less than three score mile and ten, however, as they use non-Euclidean geometry to find shortcuts, and then they follow the Hound of Tindalos through all the angles of the shortcuts to find even more.

Even so, I would not count on them for rescue in dire trouble. They know they way, and they travel nimble and quick, but they are - being Eldritch horrors - of a certain appetite, and one can never be quite sure whether they are going to Babylon by candle-light for a rescue mission, or for a simple romantic dinner expedition.

This is Sephiroth! He normally prefers a good book as a pillow, but this time the pillow gets to be him.
Only one of my books, and two of my cats, but it turns out that Zack objects to be balancing stacks of paperbacks on him, so this must suffice.

Oh good, I haven't missed the deadline. I believe I was being challenged in the original announcement, and every now and then I manage to rise to an occasion. Here's my Raja Baby contemplating Feed.

(He's not strictly my pet -- he belongs to EFRC where I volunteer -- but he's my baby. And since paperbacks aren't on his diet, there has to be a fence between the tiger and the book. But I did my best.)
I'm glad you posted this on your blog, 'cause it reminded me to come back over here and look at all the entries. :-)
DUDE. WIN.
He is BEAUTIFUL. I just love tigers. Petting a tiger is on my bucketlist. My husband (the skeptic) likes to call it my 'last thing I'll do before I die'.
I call this one... "Rosemary and Moo"

Moose is an 11 year old shepherd mix... he was supposed to be a foster, but I failed at fostering and he's been with me for 7 years. :)

She enjoys the taste of literature

An Artificial Bite
i'm past the deadline (har har) but couldn't resist. Sadly, i'm also too technically incompetent to post photos in a comment, so here's a link.
I like the "sunlit eyes" shot. :-)
