In which Seanan controls neither the weather nor the mail.

Okay! So here, in conveniently numbered form, is the status on the mailing of Wicked Girls CDs, and the ordering thereof.

1. All paid-for pre-orders have been shipped.

2. Because of high holiday traffic at the post office, it is entirely possible for you to have received your "it has been shipped" email during the last week of December, and then for your CD to have not been sent until the first week of January. This is because "it has been shipped" really means "it has been stuffed into an envelope and also we were able to find it on the checklist."

3. Ironically, since I'm still working my way through the checklist, this also means you could have your CD well before you receive your "it has been shipped" notice. Sorry about that.

4. I do not have tracking information on any of the CDs. They were all sent either first class or media mail (whichever was cheaper for that specific package), with no bells or whistles of any kind. Why? Because confirmation would require another dollar per package, and a lot more time per package, at which point I sadly don't have time to mail more than three at once, and you're still receiving CDs into 2012.

5. There's an awful lot of weather hitting North America right now, and this, unfortunately, means that quite a few packages are being delayed. I do not control the weather. I mean, besides the rain. I control the rain. But it's not the rain that is causing mail stoppages and slow deliveries. So please have patience until the horrific weather stops keeping you apart from your precious CD. Waiting makes the payoff all the sweeter, right?

6. If you need to verify the address your CD was sent to, you can email me. I will then grumble at you for making me remember where I left the database, and go and look it up. I do not have a time machine, so I can't change where the CD went, so please don't tell me today that you meant to get me an address correction last month. I can arrange to re-ship the CD when the post office returns it to me, but I'll have to ask you to pay postage again.

7. If your CD has absolutely, positively, "it's been a month and I have nothing" gone missing, email me, and we'll see what we can do. I don't control the mail, but that doesn't mean it should be messing with people, either.

8. Right now, you can obtain copies of Wicked Girls from either Southern Fried Filk or from Bill Roper (at-con sales only). I'll be getting the album up on CD Baby sometime in the next month or so; there just hasn't been time, and I wanted to make sure that all pre-orders were sent out before I started supplying the vendors.

9. No, I really can't take direct sales until then.

10. No, I am not recording a fifth CD. Yet.

If you have any other questions, comments, concerns, or cuckoo birds, feel free to share them here. I just wanted to try to get the big ones out of the way in a centralized manner, because I am currently crap at answering my email.

Got mine, been listening to, wow, I love My Story is Not Yet Done. I love the whole album, pretty much. I don't even watch Veronica Mars and the Lilly Kane song has me bobbing along.

It's... different from the other albums. (though they all have a different sound, this one is exceptiaonally different) This is the album I am going to lend to my friends who don't want to like filk. You know, as soon as I am willing to allow it be out of my personal space.

Yeah, it's much more modern folk than modern filk. I'm not sure how that happened. I appear to have gotten polished, it's weird.

My CD was waiting on me when I returned from GAFilk. It was SOOO AWESOME that it was worth not having it for the drive to and from Atlanta. So awesome that I'm planning on reviewing it in my blog and Facebook.
Thanks for playing "Still Catch the Tide" at GAFilk. I bawled, as promised. What I didn't expect was the sheer amount of tears that "Wicked Girls" has brought. I'd expected the part of the theme suggested by the title, but the strong undercurrents of snow and the difficulties of love seem to be just what this "heart that's not quite broken yet" needed. I've been listening to the disc pretty much non-stop (including only in my head when work got in the way), and I still bawl every time I hear "Writing Again."
Overall, I knew I'd enjoy it. Hell, I love just about everything that you do. I told a co-worker today that it's one of my top 10 albums of all time. Thank you.

b) wait because you're still working your way through cd's and lists.

According to my database, you're actually one of my unconfirmed payments. You're also marked as paying by check, so it's entirely possible that I failed to hit the button after depositing your check. Did that happen?

I got the email and the cd right before the new year, and in the right order.

I had no idea what to really expect when I got the cd, since all I had seen some youtube clips, but i have been listening to it more than anything else so far this year and it has totally exceeded my expectations, Fantastic!

Nonetheless, I am putting money aside in my Buying Special Things account, which is where the money for my copies of your CDs comes from, because of that 'yet'. (And also because of Late Eclipses and so forth.) I like to be prepared.

I am sorry for any part I added to your stress--2 & 6 are both things I asked about in my email, and if the CDs had gotten lost in the mail I was going to re-order them anyway, although luckily, I got my order the day after I got the address confirmation. (I was also worried that I'd unintentionally given you the wrong address, because I'm dyscalculaic, and it's worse when I'm under stress--had to have my roomie read the email you sent so that I could be sure.) The CD is absolutely gorgeous--I live-reviewed it on first listen over at my Twitter if you're interested in reading my thoughts.

I've said before that I love it! Wicked Girls and My Story is Not Done both have significance to me lately...I like the message, and it's helped me out with some ah, family problems involving alcohol. So thanks!

I have one concern:
The check I sent you has STILL not been deposited and I'm beginning to wonder if I should try to pay some other way and void the check? I was reluctant to get a paypal account, but I will if it would make it easier for you and there's some way for me to do it.

I will totally buy another CD when it's on cdbaby! My mother wants one.

My CDs came, promptly generating minor scuffles about who got to load their iTunes first! It kept my daughter and I company as I returned her to University last night - perfect theme music for the drive! - and I'm expecting a big squee when I deliver the one I purchased for a friend's big birthday to her (at breakfast this morning.). Thanks so much for the personalization on that one. She's going to be tickled purple!

'Yet' is my Word of the Day! I can be patient, so not this month, maybe not this year. But, 'Yet' is a word of beauty and promise.

Of possibly no interest to anyone but me, WG has finally become active on my SwiMP3. A nifty device to listen to music while swimming, its only drawback being that if you are busy swimming laps, you can not control the tune being played. It's not hard if you stop swimming, but that's not the point, is it? The beat in My Story if Not Done is perfect.

Thanks for a little more beauty in my life!
