Looks like those eclipses are right on time.

Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of Late Eclipses, fourth book in the October Daye series. Because I am an enormous dork, I literally waited to open this giveaway until I had my book-specific icon in place. STOP JUDGING ME. I am a dork, I embrace my dorkitude. Anyway...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

1) Leave a comment on this entry. Leave it as a comment on the entry, please, not on someone else's comment. Comments left on other comments cannot win.

2) That's all.

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I will choose a winner at 2PM PST on Tuesday, December 21st.

Game on!

I'm so excited, I'm really looking forward to this one coming out and would love an early read.
I love Toby's world, the complexities, the whole idea of a whole world underneath our noses. I love Faerie and all the layers of myth and magic. I'm always curious to see what mythical creatures will pop up next. I love world building, and the world here is still fantastic and wonderful but not so esoteric that you can't relate to it. I love Toby as a heroine, and I'm rooting for the poor girl to get a nice meal and a good nap ;). I really liked the first two books, but the third book brought it all to a new level. I didn't want to put it down, like if I did stop, then Blind Michael would actually get Toby, like these were real things happening (oh man, does that make me sound too weird?). I'm really excited to read the next one, because I feel like 3 upped the ante from 1 and 2, so I'm looking forward to 4!
Comment!
Toby Toby Toby squee more Toby yay!

(and Tybalt! yum!)
Oh, I have to give this a shot, there's no way I can't. *crosses fingers and makes sweet noises at the random number generator*
I'm excited for this book because I want to see more Toby/May interaction. Because arguing with yourself can be fun and informative.

Oh, and of course we embrace your dorkitude. For it is so like our own.
I'm looking forward to seeing more about how Toby grows & changes. :)
An ARC of your newest book would be a wonderful arrival indeed. One more for the random number generator!
I'm excited because I've been wanting to know more about Toby's complicated relationship with Amandine, and with what was going on between Simon and Oleander since the very beginning.

And though I've felt extraordinarily impatient to find out more, I also really, really, appreciate that you've made me wait, because I think that the story will be much richer now that the details of Toby's world have been fleshed out than if you'd gone straight for that in the beginning.

/* This is a random comment, C? */

Go Toby! And, y'know, Tybalt.
each book you manage to do a completely different tone (noir, slasher flick, fairy tale) while remaining true to the settings and characters. I'm really interested in what the sub-sub-genre for this one will be like.
I just finished An Artificial Night about a month ago, and immediately whined to my girlfriend about not having a time machine to get the next one. ...I think I do this with every single Toby book.
Because you rock like a thing that rocks, and I want more of your words! :-)
You've created such an amazing world. I'm really enjoying reading about it.
I want it because it is one book closer to the adventures of Toby and Quentin IN CANADA. I am so ridic. excited for that I cannot even say. Also, the Toby books have been getting successively more awesome, so by that logic...
The teaser is killing me. That's why I'm excited about the book. (now to attempt to discuss the teaser without spoilers) WHO is the big date? WHY is Toby...um...in a dress for the particular reason she is in a dress? WHY is that character threatening that other character? INQUIRING MIND WANTS TO KNOW.
Oh shiny!

May the Great Pumpkin continue to shine on your publishing endeavors.
I love the Toby books and am always excited for anything new by you. I can't wait to read the next book!
I am a bear of very little brain this morning, but I have enough brain to realize that Late Eclipses will certainly be made of win.

Thus it's only appropriate to hope that this one out of all the comments will also be made of win.
I just want to know what happens next without having to wait!

I'm excited because Toby's world is fascinating and I want to explore more of it. And I'm excited because you're continuing to get books published.
Well, I can't wait to see just what kind of insanity Rayseline has up her sleeve, not to mention Toby's relationship with Tybalt, ANYTHING to do with the Luidaeg, and that scene between Oleander and Amandine. I really want to see what's up with Amandine, because she's shifted from crazed fae to BAMF in the space of four paragraphs. :D
I'm looking forward to this one! Tybalt acted to strangely in An Artificial Night, I can't wait to see how he acts in the next. Also: I just really love Tybalt. :)
Please add me to the list. Thank you.
