DEADLINE cover launch!

Psst.

I've been sitting on this for months and months and months, and now, finally, I can show you something totally bitchin' that you really want to see. I mean, assuming you like things that are awesome, that is, and that you include FEED on that list.

Go ahead. Take a peek.

Behold the pretty:



OH MY GOD YOU GUYS OH MY GOD IT'S THE COVER TO DEADLINE AND IT'S MIND-BLOWINGLY AWESOME! I didn't think Lauren (the Orbit cover designer) could top her cover for FEED, and somehow, miraculously, she did.

You can read Lauren's thoughts on designing the cover at the Orbit blog, although you shouldn't click if you haven't read FEED yet, as there are unavoidable spoilers in the quoted back cover text.

I really think this cover sets a new standard for raw awesome. What do you think?

TOTALLY SWEET. Love how it complements the Feed cover. Can't wait what she does with Blackout! What sort of symbol works for that??

I think I AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY. Especially about the RAW aspect of the AWESOME, where RAW = RARE and BLOODY.

That's seriously ass-kickingly cool!

You know, you really have to be one of the luckiest authors on the planet. I don't think you've had a bad cover yet (at least, not in a US edition.)

It's awesome and I can't wait to read it. I've realized that I need my own copy of Feed to reread and lend out because Tanya's is signed and is her "Precious." Gonna call my sister and make sure her book store has it in for me today.

The new cover is fantastic! I adored the "Feed" cover, and Lauren has somehow managed to one-up herself. How is it humanly possible for me to be more excited about this book?

I have wanted this since the second I finished Feed. I have been telling folks it's the best book I have read all year, sincerely. And...dammit, this makes the ache of addiction so much worse....


And it looks awesome. :)

Looks good. And speaking of Feed, I just dropped a copy off at a coworker's desk this morning. (They are a Zombie fan and I mentioned the book to them a few weeks ago.) My brother-in-law is also getting a copy of 'Feed' for the holidays. (I mentioned the book to him the last time I was in a bookstore and he was interested.)

Actually. that would make a great poster. You should see if Orbit will print a few hundred broadsheets up that people could put up at cons.

Doesn't look like Arisia in the cards this year, but if I catch you at another show I can print you out a nice 3 foot by 4 foot version on plastic if there's a high rez version avail..

Oooh... nice!

I assume (hope!) they'll continue to spot-varnish the blood like they did on the FEED cover. (Yes, I'm an ink-and-paper geek... when I saw the original cover design, I thought "The only thing that would make this better would be spot-varnishing the blood."... Then the book came out and I stood in Barnes and Nobles bouncing up and down and going "OMG!!! They really _did_ spot-varnish the blood!" (I think the B&N people were happy when the crazy lady bought her book and went away that day...)
