It just keeps on getting better...

Publishers Weekly has released their list of the Best Books of 2010. Including their selections for the best science fiction, fantasy, and horror.

Feed made the list.

I am genuinely overjoyed. It's also a nice change from focusing on trying to breathe without hacking up a lung, that having been my previous activity for the morning. I wrote one of the Best Books of 2010! OH MY SWEET GREAT PUMPKIN AND PIE.

This isn't very coherent, in part because I don't have it in me to be coherent right now. Mostly, I just have it in me to be flailing wildly, and totally ecstatic.

Squee.

Oh, congratulations, sweetie! *gianthugs*
SQUEE.
And Borders didn't $#@% have it for me to give to Jimmy Carter. I'm still cheesed.

(Congrats, hon. *laughs*)
Thanks!
Awesome!
I'm thrilled.
and your publisher.

Three of the Five "SF/Fantasy/Horror" books listed were published by Orbit

I'm sure Orbit is pretty pleased.
Woo-hoo! Congratulations!

Now, if I could just get the spousebeast to hurry up and finish it so *I* can read it. The boy snatched it right out from under my nose, and it was my birthday present. Merph.
This demands immediate action; your spousebeast must go out and Buy A Copy Of The Book For Himself.

Well, that's what I think. Since I haven't had a stable relationship ever, my advice isn't worth the electrons used for the period at the end of this sentence.

While I am so not surprised, I am incredibly happy for you!
Yay!
CONGRATS! And you're in great company, too: The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms and Who Fears Death were magnificent.
I have them both in The Dread Pile.

HELL YES. I haven't even heard of the other books in that category. GO YOU.

I feel like I have gotten a lot of mileage out of this icon this year.
It's a good icon!
YIPPEE!

Congratulations Seanan :)
Thank you!
Congrats!

Looks like I'll have to push that up my reading list even though I still haven't bought the third Toby Book (or read the second. *ahem*).
Yay!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Yay! Congrats!

I am buying Feed for my brother for Christmas and hoping he likes it. My brother isn't a wide and varied voracious reader like I am, but he really enjoys the things he does like to read, and I'm hoping Feed will be on that list. *crosses fingers* It will make the third copy of Feed that I've bought, lol. Now I just need to find even more people I think would like it!
Awesome!
That's wonderful: congratulations.
Thank you.
Yay! Soon, you will conquer the planet, and there will be zombies and velociraptors for everybody who wants them. Or deserves them. Whatever.
I do hope so...
Congrats! So deserving. I keep telling people what a great read "Feed" is.
Aww, thank you!
It's to be expected! Congratulations/
Thank you!
Congratulations! *doing a happy dance for you*
Aw, yay.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Happy. :)
Congratulations!!!

(Though I have to wonder why PW is doing a "best books of 2010" list with nearly two months still to go.)
Because they get books two-three months in advance, for review purposes. So by early November, they've read everything coming out in any given year.
Congrats! I've been telling folks that it is the best book I've read all year - glad some other folks agree ;)
Yay!
Happy dance is happy, and gleeful Raven is gleeful.

On a vaguely more serious note, I'm thrilled that you're getting the recognition you deserve for the amazing amounts of work that you've done. And yes, Feed *absolutely* deserves to be recognized far and wide.

(Also have read "The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms," and would recommend it to anyone on this list who enjoyed *your* work - it has excellent worldbuilding and characters, which is also a hallmark of the Seanan / Mira books.)
Thank you so much.
