A brief note on full disclosure.

So there's been a spate recently of people going "What's the status on _________?" or "Where can I buy _________?" This is usually referring to either the InCryptid books or the Lycanthropy books, although I've also had a somewhat surprising number of inquiries about print editions of "Velveteen vs." and Sparrow Hill (hint: even if I'm able to arrange for a print edition of Sparrow Hill, it won't be until well after the virtual edition has finished, since TEoP gets first crack at the series). Here, then, is my across-the-board answer:

If I am able to give the status on a project (sold, in print, not yet shopping, not yet finished), I will. I am not in any way shy about going "OH MY GOD YOU GUYS GUESS WHAT?!" I will probably give you this status whether you want it or not, whether you care about it or not, and whether you ask me or not. And just to live up to this statement, my confirmed publications for 2011, so far, are...

"Gimme a 'Z'!," short story, in the collection Zombiesque, February.
Late Eclipses, novel, March. Toby Daye book four.
"Alchemy of Alcohol," short story, in the collection After Hours: Tales From the Ur-Bar, March.
"The Girls Next Door," essay, in the essay collection Whedonistas, March.
Deadline, novel (as Mira Grant), May. Newsflesh book two.
One Salt Sea, novel, September. Toby Daye book five.

The third Newsflesh book, Blackout, will be published in 2012.

I have a few other short stories slated for publication, but don't have release dates and/or permission to announce them yet. See, once something is sold, I am unable to tell people until I am given permission from the publisher—it's part of the standard contract. So if I'm not telling you where you can buy something, it's because there's a "can't" involved. Either you can't buy it, or I can't tell you. Either way, please, please believe me when I say that anything I am allowed to share, I share as quickly as I can, to keep my own head from exploding.

And stuff.

That all makes a lot of sense. I apologize for having been one of the people inquiring and bothering you about things.
S'okay.
2011 is gonna be SUCH AN AWESOME YEAR FOR READING. Yes indeedy!
So this!
Yay!
Woohoo! Now to save this to load into my notes on my phone for 'things to look forward to read'.

Hee, yay.
Oh Noes! Exploding Seanan! But great to hear this is all coming our way (although annoyed that only the Mira books currently have a distributor Down Under, hence us not having any Seanan books when you visited - talk to your people, y'hear?)
Lack of readily-available Seanan books here in Australia is sad, yes. But remember, you can always special order things from the US through your local bookseller. And if you're a Sydneysider, I know that Galaxy Books has (or had, last time I was there, at least) copies of all of the Toby Daye books on the shelf.
I shall do, good sir. And you can talk to them for me, by contacting publishers and telling them they ought to import my books. ;)
Will do! Oddly enough, 'Local Habitation' and 'Rosemary & Rue' *were* available in late 2009 / early '10 for a short while, but the local distributor - Penguin - dropped them. I'm already making enquiries re. who to have whacked for this, and sourcing horse-heads with which to encourage Penguin to run with the series again. :)
I apologize for bugging you with questions about things you cannot speak of. Sorry. I got over eager.
Not sure what part of Australia people are in, but Minotaur books in Melbourne generally have some Seanan on the shelf. I actually managed to be lucky enough to get a signed copy of Feed! Dymock's on Collins St (downstairs at the old Sportsgirl centre) also have a fairly good UF/PR section and that's where I got all 3 of the Toby Daye books.
It's okay! I just wanted to explain what was up.
Ok, you just made me squeegasm with that list.

Also: you win at life.
Yay!
Wow...you're giving me the next Newsflesh for my wedding anniversary? Thanks, Seanan!! Don't suppose you could bump that March-release Toby book back to my birthday month of February, huh? (Nope, I didn't think so...but had to ask!)

I still get a kick out of seeing your work in stores--often with Toby/Newsflesh books facing one another across the aisle--and always think, "Wow...I know that author--at least enough that she comments back to me!"

I recently re-read FEED (3rd time thru!) and enjoyed it almost as much as I did the first time around...you're on my Mercedes Lackey/Anne McCaffrey/Stephen King shelf now! That's my go-to when I need something to read. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
Very welcome. :)
