Books for Boobs. Because we like our boobs.

Okay, guys, bear with me for a minute here.

I am a fan of my breasts. I grew them myself, and as I am not an apple tree or a corn maze, there's not that much I can say that about. I am a fan of my breasts remaining healthy and hence, y'know, attached. Not all my friends have been that fortunate. Statistically speaking, I may not be that fortunate forever. This is a sad truth of the modern world.

But there are things we can do.

Books for Boobs, a project of Save the Boobs, is auctioning off signed books to help support the fight against breast cancer. Authors with works in the currently live auctions include Mary Robinette Kowal, Lev Grossman, me, Patrick Rothfuss, Scott Westerfeld, Holly Black, me-as-Mira, and many more.

Auctions will remain live for the next eight days, and are all currently quite low. Support a good cause, get yourself some signed literature, and save the boobs. Because sadly, not being apple trees or corn mazes, we can't grow more if we don't preserve the ones we have.

Hmm, I've looked at the shipping charges (because I'm in the UK) and really don't like the idea of giving $45 to the USPS. Is it possible to just donate? I'd rather give you the $45 straight...

I live on a fixed income, so I can't help out that way. What I will do is post about it with information on where to go to help in a good cause. Here's hoping a fair amount of gild comes your way.

No "gild" will come my way regardless, as this isn't my charity; any money spent on the auctions will go to Books for Boobs, to support the fight against breast cancer.

Oh, how awesome. I have many friends and family members whose boobs have had Major Issues, so am all for saving the boobs. I'll be boosting the signal :-)

I might buy something here a little later -- depends on if any clients bring their money in soon enough. This is for a really good cause, though! I also like the way your visual persona is *entirely different* in the two pictures. :) One is scary, one is winsome...

Since most of my direct experience with breast cancer has been where it was found in men, I heartily approve of this less-than-screaming-PAAAINK endeavor. (Will see what can be done.)
