The Traveling Circus rides again! AN ARTIFICIAL NIGHT book release party.

Have you always wanted to attend one of my book events? Well, here's your chance!

The Traveling Circus will be reuniting this Saturday, September 18th, for a gala bash at Borderlands Books in San Francisco, California! Festivities will commence at five, and continue until nine, by which point the bookstore will have had more than enough of us, and will doubtless shovel us all out into the street.

Will there be music? Yes, there will be music. With Amy McNally, Michelle Dockrey, Betsy Tinney, SJ Tucker, and Brooke Lunderville in attendance, music has become unavoidable. The musicians will be back in the bookstore this time, leaving the cafe open for the consumption of delicious, delicious beverages, and even more delicious food.

Will there be a raffle? Yes, there will be a raffle. Awesome prizes are being prepared as we speak, tucked into their box with care as we get ready for the big night. All attendees will get a raffle ticket automatically; get another ticket by making a purchase at either the bookstore or the cafe (three tickets per person, maximum).

Will there be cake? Yes, there will be cake. It's Toby's one-year publication "birthday," and cake makes every birthday better.

Will there be pendants? Yes, there will be pendants. chimera_fancies will be in attendance, with a never-before-seen batch of pendants created from an ARC of An Artificial Night. They're some of her best work to date, and will be available for sale throughout the evening. Seriously, you don't want to miss these.

Remember that, if you can't attend, Borderlands is happy to take requests for signed and personalized books, and I'd be thrilled to sign a book to be mailed to you. They have all three Toby books, Feed, The Living Dead 2, and—the last time I checked—one of the last remaining retail copies of Ravens in the Library. So show up if you can, and consider placing an order if you can't!

This message bought and paid for by The Traveling Circus and Snake-Handling Show, LLC.

How does the "sign a book and have it mailed to you" work? I would like to buy my friend Jennifer, who turned me on to "Feed", a signed copy of it. I might also grab a copy of "Rosemary and Rue".

I take it you need me to send you my address through your website? And what email address and how much should I send PayPal too? A Priority Mailer is probably easiest for you; I would think both books would fit in there.

Best,
Mack

P.S. I haven't said congratulations yet for your award, so let me say it now. :) Congralations! It's a really big deal, and I'm happy for you.
You contact the bookstore directly, and they'll take care of everything for you! I don't do direct sales, but they do. :)

Thanks for the congrats!
Bit far of a commute. If you're ever in the DC area, though, we will happily play Seanan's Minions :-)
Works for me!
Or upon rereading (I always read too fast), maybe you meant there's a way to email Borderlands and have them sequester the book upon signing, and *they* mail it to me. Yes, that would make more sense.

I shall go look at the Borderlands website now...

Mack
That is, indeed, what I mean. Also, that way, you can get it personalized, not just flat signed.

Regrettably, this is slightly too long a commute from greater Portland.

OTOH, I've now filled out my panelist survey for OryCon....
Hooray!
There is some non-zero chance that I could actually make this, if I ply the fiance with sushi fast enough so that we can make it before you guys get kicked out. :)

On the chance that I do, is there a limit on how many books I could get signed? Or if I brought all three of my Toby books would that be possible?
Nope, no limit!

Seanan, I'd love to go but SF scares me (waay too busy) and I get lost too easily on all those one way streets. Since I am a frequent con person there's a good chance I'll be able to pop into a writing panel you're on to say hi. Thanks for the novels and have fun :D
No problem!
Um. Sooj wrote a song about Tybalt? Is is hear-able somewhere?
Not sure if it's been recorded at all yet, but you can read the lyrics here.

I'd go if I weren't roughly 1500 miles away.

At this point in time, I've read the paper copies of the first three Toby books and have finished listening to Rosemary & Rue on CD and am about halfway through listening to A Local Habitation. I just got the An Artificial Night CD today. Maybe eventually, I'll get around to the ebook versions.
Hee.

Okay, you rock.

I'm so glad you were able to come!
Oh, for instantaneous travel. I'd love to come to one of your book parties but as I have meetings scheduled for the 18th that I have to go to, I cannot make it. But there will be a present for you at Orycon, if I don't have a panel conflicting with any of yours. :)
Aw, yay. :)
I'm very tempted, but sadly that's the same night some friends are throwing their third or fourth annual post-apocalypse party. My wife and I may ask you to sign a book or two at Consonance though if that's not too intrusive.
I am always happy to sign books.

Unless I'm in the bathroom.

Well, pooh. Once again I have a show on the night in question. Eventually the theatre and literary gods are going to get together and give me a night off to be at one of these. Or I'll just quit theatre to show up.

In any case, have buckets of fun. Someday our orbits will manage to cross again.
We did! Just for you!
