I fought the lag and the lag won. Have an open thread.

So my "take four days to recover from jet lag" plan appears to have been a good one, except for the part where it wasn't actually long enough, and I am still passing out at inopportune moments. In the kitchen while making lunch. In my desk chair while writing. In the theater while watching Resident Evil: Afterlife (because the T-virus is apparently soothing unto me).

I need to take a shower. I'm afraid I'm going to drown.

So here: have an open thread. Talk about whatever, post whatever, do whatever (although it would be nice if you could keep the Campbell congrats on the "I won the Campbell" post, just to make them easier to answer). Do not expect prompt replies, as I may be asleep. If you do not see activity from me for twenty-four hours, I have drowned in the shower, and the cats have eaten me. I expect it will take them a week or so to figure out the LJ interface and begin posting.

Game on!

I seem to recall you will be adding another Maine Coon to the kitty brigade. Are you taking another girl? What colors are you hoping for?

Alice has fascinating eyes by the way; you just don't see too many blue tabbies with orange eyes.
As I understand it, she's scheduled to get either this boy kitten or his almost-identical brother:

Does the lady pictured come too? If so, where do I sign up? <grins>

Alas, I am not pedigreed.

*giggle*
That is SO FREAKING CUTE.
I just love Maine Coons. I always have. My cat at home is half Maine Coon--actually half (he's the product of a breeding queen getting outside, from what the shelter was told). He's adorable and I wuvs him, but we're probably not going to take him as my brother, who's somewhat emotionally fragile, has really latched on to him and Beau now follows him the way used to follow me (and still does, when I'm home).

We're going to get one ourselves, probably next spring late or next fall, as finances are very tight right now and won't loosen until I'm really employed again. I do love shelter kitties very much and if we get two kittens, as we've discussed, one of them will be a rescue, but I've always wanted a purebred Maine Coon, and since we're not likely to get kittens until next year, hubby promised me I could have any kind of kitty I wanted.
That's pretty much the norm for Maine Coons. I'm getting a blue classic tabby and white boy.
My blue classic tabby and white girl has green eyes with a copper center. Her dad, an untarnished blue, has green eyes with a gold center. By contrast, our queen we had our last litter out of, has the prettiest copper eyes... Though they haven't passed on to any of her kittens :(
