Appearances and administration! Plus, NEW SHINIES.

Item the first: I have updated my website appearances. Go, view, and learn where I'm going to be. I have confirmed appearances in Australia, New York, California, and Oregon. Which brings me to...

Item the second: I am delighted and honored to announce that I have been selected as the Friends of Filk Guest for OryCon 32. This year's theme is "the Darker Side of Fantasy," which is something I feel I can work with quite well. I'll be appearing with Vixy and Tony, which always makes me happy, and maybe I'll even have a brand new album by then! The convention will be held in Portland, Oregon, from November 12th through the 14th. I hope you can make it, if it's even remotely local to you.

Item the third: If you ever feel the need to quit your job, this is pretty much the way to do it. Style, a sense of humor, and a great way of making your point. (I do wonder what kind of reference she's going to get, but...) Just don't read the comments. The sexism can get a little scary at certain points. But the facial expressions are twenty miles beyond awesome.

Item the fourth: This is what you've all been waiting for, which is a large part of why I've been keeping you in suspense. I'd say that I was sorry, but you'd all know that I was lying through my teeth. So instead, I shall say LOOK! SHINY! Much more effective.

Icons and Wallpapers for An Artificial Night have been posted on my site.

Tara has really outdone herself with this latest batch, and I am absolutely enthralled by her graphic awesome. Some will make more sense after you've read the book, but they're all fantastic now. Go, look, take, have, and join the flailing excitement as you realize...book three is ALMOST HERE.

Gleh.

Absolutely I'll be at OryCon. Not that there was any doubt before, OryCon being my local con, but now? Settled beyond need for setlement. (Also, must send another email....)

That's a heck of a way to quit. Wondering if it's a hoax, still very funny.

Brings up something that bugs me considerably about how the workforce tends to operate. Higher ups grumble that minions spend all their time goofing up. Higher ups tend to spend...a rather lot of time goofing off. I noticed this since I made the successful jump from "minion type" to "higher up type" (sort of anyway) and I noticed the person in the office who spent the most time grumbling that the secretaries wasted time with solitare and therefore had it uninstalled from their computers spent much of his time goofing off with Bejeweled Blitz.

Hey, you're going to get to meet Sharyn November, who I met online the same day I initially e-mailed you. I never would have guessed in 1997 or so that you'd be headlining a con together.

The world is wonderfully mysterious, and I love it that way.

November 12-14 is going to be one helluva weekend for music. I plan to be at Windycon in Chicago, where Tricky Pixie is/are the Filk Guests. At least I'll have seen you at OVFF three weeks before.

I continue to find it disturbing that in the comments on the original post, a lot of people were going "well, she is a HOPA, so she should just suck it up and deal."

:happy wriggle: I just finished reading "Dear Gina" to my housemate, who is appropriately creeped out and loves it. I was telling her about Iron Poet, and how you "wrote a poem for MEEEEE! For MEEE! And you can't see it, but my invisible wolf tail is wagging" and she said yes, she could see it.
