It's good to be easily amused.

Number of people with Newsflesh as an interest: 7
Number of people with Lycanthropy and Other Issues as an interest: 3
Number of people with 'Price Girls' as an interest: 1 (me)

And, of course...

Number of people with 'Seanan McGuire' as an interest: 16

From this, I can determine that Toby is the most popular thing around these parts, and I really need to talk about Verity Price more, because she's way too awesome for me to be solo on adoring her and her family. Although I suppose it would probably help if I, y'know, finished writing her book.

Have I mentioned recently that I get very, very silly when I'm ass-deep in unending edits?

Yes! There must be more discussion of Verity!

And I'd list some of those things as interests, except for the whole "too lazy, can't be arsed to set up interests".

And, um, frankly, I think it would be a little creepy if I only had a handful of interests, all of them pertaining to you. ^^;;
Well, yes. The goal is not the creation of creepiness.

And there will totally be more discussion of Verity, and of her family -- Alexander, who's in Ohio, working as a zookeeper, and Antimony, who's currently living in Walnut Grove, California -- and, of course, of the mice.
You take unfair advantage of the fact that you always have me at the mice. *grins*
If I picked up a book, flipped it to the back, and saw something like that, I guarantee you that I would want to know more. Especially if the blurb politely refused to explain how the mice were relevant.
The mice are very relevant! Just ask them.
Yes. Yes, I do. I HAVE NO SHAME.

*is serene*
Not logical! Kill your readers AFTER they buy your books!
...this is relevant to my interests.
*giggling* My logic WINS! \o/
Yes.
*eyes your icon*

*considers the possibility that you plan on raising a horde of undead minions to take over the world and buy your books*

. . . I do not feel secure.
Well, that just means I'm doing my job right!
You have the best job. :p
Yes. I do.
Here is some more amusement: "Sycamore Tree" popped up on Smellerbee during my song meme, but I couldn't use it because, well, the very first line contains the title.
Yeah, that would sort of kill the guessing game value, wouldn't it?

In such cases you can either use the second line (provided you add to the rules that where the first line contains the title, you will use the second line) /or/ you can just put blanks or pseudo-code in the place of the title: 'I found our names carved in the bark of the old [title of song]' or 'I found our names carved in the bark of the old _________'. I've seen both done. If the title comprises the entire lyrics of the song or if it's an instrumental, you're still out of luck, though.
Smellerbee also gave me "I'm Really into Techno" by Garbage, which basically consists of the sample "I'm really into techno, and that's about it" over and over.

I've seen the workarounds too, but I'm lazy.

A winner is you!
Stoney is celebrating on my behalf.
Stoney brings the rock-n-roll awesome.
