ROSEMARY AND RUE giveaway.

With the third book in the Toby series coming up (rapidly), I want to make sure that people who want the opportunity to read the series at all have the chance. So...

I am giving away five copies of Rosemary and Rue. I am unfortunately able to give them to US addresses only; the cost of postage is just too high for me to be able to do this with International shipping on top of everything else. What do you need to do?

1) Comment here, explaining either a) why you'd like a copy of Rosemary and Rue, or b) why I should be giving a copy to someone else (a friend, a relative, that guy who commented right before you...)

2) That's all. I'll pick winners on Sunday evening, when I draw the winners of the latest ARC contest. (Which is still going, by the way, and you have to enter if you want to win.)

Yes, you can enter both. Rock and roll!

My case for inclusion in the giveaway group is that, assuming all goes well with the San Francisco Trip idea, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO SPEND ANY MONEY ON POSTAGE AT ALL because I will PICK IT UP IN PERSON. The money you thus save can be used to buy furniture for orphans.

In summary: Give me a free book and orphans will have a place to sit. It's a win-win.
You should send me a copy of Rosemary and Rue because it will not go to waste. If I don't like it as a book, I'll simply shred it over chicken with some thyme, and maybe a bit of basil, and feed it to my wife.
I would love a copy, because it's something I'd greatly enjoy sharing with my significant others. ;)
Because I can't afford to give away as many copies as I would like to people who I think will then get hooked and buy the series.

Seriously, I have managed to infect Patricia Briggs out to 3 stages so far, and Dresden is out to like 15, but I Rosemary and Rue has only managed two so far - and I aim to find the path that will go further than Dresden.
You should give a copy to my sister, because she borrowed my copy, then immediately went out to buy A Local Habitation. She loves your work, and deserves a copy of the book I took back from her. And I forgot to give her a birthday present. I'm a bad sister, and you need to help me redeem myself!
I'd like a copy to give to my daughter who, at 17, thinks most books geared to her age group are full of trash, emo, and bull. She loves to read but I have a hard time getting her hooked on really good and excellant books and authors and showing her how I campaigned for it will most assuredly make her feel special and want to read :)
THIS. Anyone who is a teen who hasn't been ingrained in literary crap deserves to have decently-researched and amazing tales of the fae in the modern world to read.

And because Toby is love, and teenaged daughters who adore Toby will make sure all their friends adore Toby, and there will be REVENUES and more Toby.
You should give me a copy so I can stick it on the rack at QFC or Bartell Drugs and have them sell (or give) it to some interested party. Hm. I wonder how often they do inventory.
I'd like to get a copy to my mother and her partner as I think they would greatly enjoy it and I know they have not had the resources since it came out to get it. And would likely then start passing it to interested approaching-fen grandchildren as they can. (They keep discussing taking at least 3 of them to Marcon, when they can afford it).

Because I lent mine to someone, and I've forgotten who, and it hasn't come back to me, oh, boo-hoo!
You should give a copy to my BFF Katie, because she is the only friend of mine who does not have a copy, and she borrowed mine but then I had to take it back because I was moving home, so she has not yet been able to read it. And she would LOVE Toby, with an undying love.

Also, she will be in Stockton as of... today, actually, so you can save on postage!
I would like a copy for my friend Kim (aka mirisa_ardruna), who is a fan of all things fairy. I don't know how much time she has to read, since she's a single mom of a toddler, but maybe she can manage on breaks at work. Well, in between the ancient Greek and Latin she reads for fun. (She's also a Shakespeare fan.)
I would love a copy because I read Feed, loved it, added you on Twitter and now want to read all your other books. But! I am going to grad school. Which means [a] I am poor and [b] most of my books are either sad and lonely in donation bins around town or in a box slowly, slowly being Media Mailed across the country. So, a free, well-reviewed book mailed to me? Sounds awesome!
On October 23rd, 2014, at 1:14 am, the first of what would become known as the squid-dogs emerged from Lake Balqash in Kazakhstan, but they didn't encounter anyone for another 35 minutes. Three minutes later, in Zurich, Switzerland, The squid-dogs started coming ashore. In 5 minutes, the count was 17 dead, 39 injured. In 10 minutes, the count was over 100 dead. In thirty minutes, people stopped counting.

It wasn't until 43 minutes after the first incursion that the squid-dogs appeared in America. On the shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky Ohio, 5:57 pm local time, 911 calls started coming in about strange creatures coming out of the lake. Of all the souls that were at the cedar point amusement park, only 13 are known to have survived. The Deuxillan invasion had begun.

So if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to read a copy of your book before I get eaten 4 years from now.
Hmm...

I've already given copies to several friends in the US.

Is "So that they can have an extra copy to give someone else" a good reason?
I'll throw my hat in the ring because of a comment someone made about Feed, where they said they've read it three times now and they keep crying. I picked it up this evening, so Rosemary and Rue would be a nice complement.
Feed is AWESOME!!! You must read it. I cried too even though I saw it coming, though not exactly how it happened.
I'd like you to give a copy to my friend Sarah, who lives in Portland, Oregon. Just because. <3
Dead tree versions travel farther. I have my copy and I've managed to have 2 people get e-versions but hard copy and can loan out and never mind if I see again as long as someone new is always reading it would be awesome.
They have none of the McGuire Canon, so let's get them one to start them out. No one can eat just one!
I would give my third copy to Craig Chalquist, Ph.D., my mythology teacher at JFK University. He likes your music and uses your songs in his classes :-)

Lola
I loved this book. It was a well written, fun, absorbing take on the fay in the modern world and I loved the little bits of humor.
I would like to give one to a friend of mine who is working on getting an album out and thus cannot afford to purchase books at the moment, even though she loves Rosemary and Rue so much that she read my copy in one night. (Bonus: she is the sort of singer who is likely to write a song about Toby. Okay, maybe not Toby, but definitely the King of Cats.)
I'm late to get in on this, so hopefully I won't lose out of tardiness.
I would love a copy of your book, because I'm a Mom who owns a cat, loves to read, and enjoys contemplating weapons and various ways to commit murder successfully (in fiction).
I started following you on Twitter (theliz13) because a friend of mine has read your book and utterly loved it and you, and recommended you.
If I don't win, it'll be a while before I can buy the book, because I'm so close to broke that I can only buy books when I scrape enough change out of the laundry and couch cushions. So I will buy it...but winning would let me use that change for your NEXT book. :-)
PS I don't know that it matters, but the friend who referred me to you is @priscellie on Twitter.
I loaned my copy to my mother and she won't give it back.
would love to give a copy to my friend, she just recently gotten in PR/UF genre :)
