Not sure what your dress budget is, but I've always had good luck with Igigi.com. Their showroom is in SF, around 11th,12th, Market and Van Ness. Call them up and you can go visit and try stuff on in person.

What kind of dress do you need? Formal? Semi-formal? Ballgown to go with the tiara?

I don't know what to say, except that I think it fully possible that a pumpkin-carriage pulled by lesbian My Little Ponies will probably come on Friday the 13th of this month to take you to Halloween Town, where Sally the Ragdoll will sew you a new dress with a spare limb attached that you can use to safely prod local wildlife with while you're in Australia.

This week's Warehouse 13 is wonderful. A goodly amount of Claudia (who I now keep thinking of as Georgia, thanks to you), a guest from Eureka, and a fantastic dual guest appearance by Rene Auberjonois.

On a completely unrelated note, as my mind wandered during lunch today, it wandered into an October Daye/Girl Genius crossover. No plot, just character interactions. I want to see Toby's reaction to Othar, Agatha's (and Castle Heterodyne's) reaction to April, a Jager/Redcap battle ("Nize hat, buddy!"), Sylvester and the Baron commiserating over a drink, Spike and the cats meeting the little clanks ("Toys!"), and, of course, Tybalt meeting Krosp.

My in-law's cocker spaniel likes to drop her tennis balls in the pool. But ONLY when people are on the pool. And only when she can make it mostly look like an accident. She will also deliberately nose her balls under furniture and then whine at you plaintively.

She is Very Manipulative. At least when one of my cats knocks something under a piece of furniture it was in actual play. Usually. Beau doesn't generally care for toys, except for the Cat Dancer, which was a godsend find because the other kitty fishing poles we found he cleverly just chewed through the string of so he could run off with the toy bit and hide it in the rafters in the basement. He doesn't play with them. He just hordes them. I think he might be a furry dragon.

At least you TRY to preplan your wardrobe. I have been known to wander in a dazed fashion into a store and inform them I need a semi-formal dress for a dinner I'm supposed to be attending in two hours. If I was you, I'd probably have gone "Well, I'll find something in Australia. Probably." and willfully not think about what a Bad Idea this would be until I wandered into an Australian department store crying that I had a formal event in two hours and nothing to wear but khakis.

Good luck finding a dress!!! Make sure it has a ripaway skirt and room for extra ammo. :)

Grrr, living in Ohio which made dress finding/making that much harder! But! Next year!

You know what I've found works surprisingly well? Filling up the space under the bed with plastic bins. Admittedly I was mostly trying to block an entire cat from hiding in the untouchable zone when I'm trying to catch her, which is a bigger thing that a feather on a stick, but still, the less Under the Bed there is, the less stuff can be lost under there.

The bins can also be filled with things, if you have more things than you have places to put them. Those things will then, as a bonus, be relatively free of cat hair.

Obviously, we need to clone you. Many, many times.
