Too tired to brain. Have an open thread.

I am too tired to brain today. Here; have an open thread. Ask anything, bring up anything, whatever makes you happy (although I ask that you avoid detailed book spoilers—I have forums for that).

I will brain later, but right now, I have the dumb.

I'm going to a launch party in San Francisco! FOR A BOOK I HELPED WRITE!!!

I'm totally excited! Even if I'm going to miss the party ('cause I'm in Ohio that weekend). We have to have dinner while you're in town, and before I leave town.

A launch party is a public event to celebrate the release of a book. There are often snacks. People come to tell you how awesome you are. I sometimes have a raffle. Lots of books are sold. It's cool, and a lot of fun.

I'd love to do lunch someday if we can swing it. Are you in town for APE the weekend previous? I know the focus is not quite the same, since you are pretty firmly "traditional" rather than "alternative" press at this point...

I pretty much always do APE, but this year is somewhat dependent on my deadlines. That said, I will be in town, and would be totally happy to come and have a meal with you. Because we gotta meet!

Sounds like, if not a plan, then at least a Thing. I'll keep you posted when my schedule finally crystallizes, but unless something weird happens, I'll basically be in town for both those weekends and the week in between.
