To quote the NPR page:
"Last month when we asked the NPR audience to submit nominations for a list of the 100 most pulse-quickening, suspenseful novels ever written, you came through with some 600 titles. It was a fascinating, if unwieldy, collection.
"Now, with your input, a panel of thriller writers and critics has whittled that list down to a manageable 182 novels. That roster, which we now offer for final voting, draws from every known thriller sub-genre—techno, espionage, crime, medical, psychological, horror, legal, supernatural and more."
Here is a link to the full story, including the list of 182 novels being considered for the top 100.
Scroll down. Scroll down to books beginning with the letter "F."
Understand why I am sitting here looking pole-axed.
I AM IN THE SECOND-TIER NPR LIST. ME. I am right fucking there, along with my two favorite Stephen King novels of all time, and the first Repairman Jack novel, and Jurassic Park, and and and and...
Ack.
So they say lobbying is okay, right there in the article, and this is me, lobbying. I'm not sure how I made this list; it would mean a lot to me to make the final cut. Please consider swinging by and taking a look at the nominees? And maybe, you know, making with the clicky?
Now please excuse me. I seem to have something in my eye.

It's like they think you spent years doing the worldbuilding...oh, wait, you did.
Well, maybe they think you put a lot of time, effort, and research into the writing...oh, wait, you did that too.
Okay, it's possible that they think you have interesting, believable, and likeable characters...no, you have those too.
Sorry, I can't help figure this one out. :)

Anyway, totally voted for you. Because FEED really is amazing. Also voted for Hunger Games and for Jurassic Park. I remember Jurassic Park being one of the few movies my parents saw together when I was a kid, and my mom covered her eyes through half of it. Why she then let us watch it before the age of 20, I have no idea, but holy fuck dinosaurs! It definitely might have influenced me in deciding to study biology in college, lol.

And it shouldn't be a surprise to me that without having to whittle anything down exactly half of my choices were Stephen King books.

I have voted.
You've worked very hard for a long time (although you may enjoy writing so much that you don't consider it work). You deserve this recognition.

And, it looks like you have a new writers organization you need to join: http://www.thrillerwriters.org/
And if they get picky about your membership, point at the NPR voting and point at the names on the selection panel.

Seems to be the day for big scores; another friend of mine found out today they passed a big licensing exam.
And for some reason today's Candorville made me think of you... ;-)
