In which Seanan assesses stock, and is startled.

Last night, in the process of unpacking from Westercon/Conchord, I had cause to return some unsold CDs to the CD storage shelf. I've been shuffling things around recently, preparing for the arrival of Wicked Girls, which means that my stock is about as consolidated as it's ever been. Everything is, within a variance margin of maybe twenty disks, in the same place. Bearing this in mind...

...I now have sixty-seven copies remaining of Stars Fall Home.

Stars Fall Home was my first studio project. I joke that the theme of the album was "holy crap, I'm making an album," but that's not too far from the truth. Songs were being added and dropped right up until the last minute; tracks were recorded everywhere from the United States and Canada to the United Kingdom; for a while there, I really seemed to be doing my best to get everyone I'd ever met onto a single disk. I learned a lot about the recording process from this album. And I learned that I am incredibly blessed in the people who share my life.

Anyway, this is all sort of by way of saying that if you want to own the studio version of "Pretty Little Dead Girl" or "This Is My Town," my cover of "Still Catch the Tide," or any version of "Evil Laugh" or "Earthquake Weather," now is the time on Sprockets when you should probably consider ordering an album. I'm not planning to re-print for some time, if ever, so when they're gone, they're gone. And their shelf space will be given over to other albums, while the remaining copies of Pretty Little Dead Girl mutter about their neighbor who moved away.

It is so weird to realize that I'm almost out of an album. So weird.

I still have the mp3s of Mystic, River, and Town from when you were first recording it.

It's a great album, and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't bought it yet.
And .... I have the dumb. Those songs were from the first album, Pretty Little Dead Girls

However, my point still stands, excellent album, go buy it (and all of the other ones, while you're at it).
...I was wondering about that...
Yeah, late night, short sleep, hot weather, people sending me bad query letters. I have applied caffeine internally and expect to recover soon.
Thank you.
Even more weird and impressive is to realize that you've very nearly sold through an entire print run of a filk album. That happens but rarely. :)

Hrm. I should order a couple of extra copies for gifting.
True. And you should, if you're going to want them; I plan to do two more CDBaby re-stocks, and check with the filk dealers, and then? Odds are good I'm done.
A friend and I made a cross-country trip (she was moving to Portland, and I was navigating and keeping her sane, as well as using the excuse to stop in and see my folks in Nebraska). Stars Fall Home was one of the things in the car's CD changer -- I think we even made an audio post to LJ singing along to 'Evil Laugh'. (I brought Pretty Little Dead Girl and Red Roses and Dead Things but never got a chance to put them in.)

I should buy her a copy of the CD for Christmas.
That is awesome. :)
Ooooh, I LUH Stars Fall Home!! It's one of those OMG-this-whole-thing-is-so-frikkin'-cool kind of albums... which almost never happens. It's chock-full of awesome--songs that make me happy, some that make me giggle, and one that always makes me cry. (Srsly. But I'm a Pisces, so that's to be expected.)

What, you don't have a copy? GET. IT. NOW. :D
Heee.

Yay! I'm so glad.
Right in the middle of pulling up CDBaby (I need a new copy of SFH, as mine is, um, very well-loved), my internet died. There came wailing, gnashing of teeth, and calling of Himself at work ("OH GOD WHY DO THE 'NET GODS HATE ME?!"). He listened patiently...until I mentioned the phrase "and when it sells out, there will be no more. <sniff> This is the only printing." There was a pained "GKK!" on the other end, and sounds of scrambling/scuffling as he did a swan-dive back into his chair and pulled up the site. "Why didn't you say so?! I need a new copy too!" And all was happy again! <Muppet-flail>

AngelVixen :-)
...that kinda rules.
I meant to ask you at the con "hey, what would be a good choice to start with those". Lucky for me that you can read freakin' minds. (I'll order it next week when the budget opens up)
Awesome!
I have this album in so many places--computer, CD, iPod, cell phone... I can't imagine trying to fall asleep without "Take Advantage of Me" and "Earthquake Weather" playing in my ear, or writing last year's NaNoWriMo to anything but "Sycamore Tree" and your cover of "Still Catch the Tide". May end up ordering another copy or two for gifts before this run is gone
AND THEN SHE DID AND OF THE PHOENIX A FANGIRL WAS MADE. MONSTER. HAS CREATED A MONSTER.

Absolutely love this, need moar CDs. Naow.
Yay!

And workin' on it.
Yes! I know! I need to purchase the others what are available for purchase! So I'm ready for the new one!

(too many exclamation points, oh dear)
Heeee, awesome.
