A Blonde-Watcher's Guide to Migration Patterns, or, Where's Seanan?

July.
Okay, so, like, who authorized it being July already? Who said "golly, 2010's been fun and all, but let's go ahead and shift things around so that it'll be closer to being 2011"? Because whoever that is, I am not okay with them. Anyway:

There are five weekends in July, and I have five appearances in July. Funny how that works out. Three of them are conventions, and the other two are book tour events. We begin with Westercon/ConChord over 4th of July weekend. I'm ConChord's Guest of Honor and Westercon's Music Guest, which a) makes this my first Westercon guest appearance, and b) makes this convention sort of a big deal. Paul Kwinn is their Toastmaster, and between the two of us, there's going to be a whole lot of hoot and a whole lot of nanny. Plus it's in Pasadena, land of Disney, where a good time can easily be had by all.

I'll be spending the second weekend of July in Seattle for the Murder and Mayhem Tour with Jennifer Brozek. We'll be reading at Third Place Books, and then heading to the Wayward Coffeehouse for the Serenity Shindig. Will I be joining Vixy and company on stage? Only one way to know for sure, and that's to be there. Jennifer and I will be getting together again in the third weekend of July, when she comes down to the Bay Area for the second stop on the Murder and Mayhem Tour. We'll be at Borderlands Books, home of all good things, and there will probably be cupcakes.

The weekend after that, it's back to Southern California for the San Diego International Comic Convention. Last year when I was there, I didn't have any books in print, and this year, I have three, along with ARCs for the fourth. I'm on amazing panels, and will be posting my schedule soon. I may hyperventilate and die. Only not, because at the end of the month, I have Spocon! In Spokane, Washington, where I'll be the Filk Guest, along with Author Guest Tanya Huff! Ladies of DAW, unite!

August.
Australia awaits. I am so nervous, and so excited.

September.
The release of An Artificial Night! The return of the Traveling Circus and Snake-Handling Show!

October.
In October, I will be flying to New York for the New York City Comic Convention (my first one!), to Ohio for the Ohio Valley Filk Festival (not my first one!), and to Alabama for my annual pilgrimage to the haunted corn maze (mmmmmmmm, corn). It's a good thing I can sleep on planes, right? Also, I may be releasing my fourth album...

November.
Sleep.

December.
Seattle, and sleep.

January.
Gafilk! I am the Guest of Honor at Georgia's own filk convention, and I'm bringing my Vixy, and we are going to BLOW THE ROOF OFF, YO. Details to come.

The year is filling up fast, and more things are bound to appear as the months draw closer—look at how detailed the next few months are compared to the later ones. If you want me, book early, book often, and bribe.

Whee!

New York City Comic Convention

I'm going to that! Will email you.
Neat!
Have a wonderful time at all of those. I'm sure you'll be a great guest.
I hope so.
Hope we can see you when you are in NYC (especially since I cannot make OVFF this year, due to the big Houdini show eating my time from August to November). Oddly, I have no interest in being swallowed in the mob scene that is NYCC, though the bulk of the best panels are on Saturday and therefore not readily accessible to us.
I'm coming out for basically a week, so hopefully, we can make something happen.
You're going to be at NYC Comi Con? Sweet. If you're on any panels do post about it, Hubby and I have discussed attending this year (since we live in North Jersey in a town with a direct train line to Manhattan) and I'd be interested in catching any panels you're on (and perhaps getting one of my books made super special with your undoubtedly awesome signature.)
I am, and I will.
Will have to track down you down at ConChord to learn how to sign Die by Fire!
It's not hard!
If Burger Continental is still--ah, they are still around: http://burgercontinentalpasadena.com at Lake & California, not far from the con hotel in Pasadena, then you might enjoy their food as a break from the hotel's. I miss the Middle Eastern food I could get there. I wasn't too keen on their tabbouli (made right, but the dressing was wrong for me), but oh, everything else was yummy. They get very crowded at peak hours, and they have little space to use (at least 20 yrs ago). It's a joyful sort of crowd.

Have fun in all your travels--unless someone screws with my calendar, I WILL be there for Borderlands Books in July.
Yay!
Sounds like a banner summer. Not that it seems to be in your plans or anything, but if you ever GoH anything here in Wisconsin, I'm so going.
That's less "my plans," and more "if I'm ever invited." I'll totally keep you posted.

You actually get to sleep?

I wish I could see the Murder and Mayhem tour!
I wish you could, too.
Hope to see you on your trips to Seattle!
There won't be much time for visiting, but if you are where I am, I will totally see you.
Australia is awesome.

I write for an Aussie book blog (http://content.boomerangbooks.com.au/read-up-on-it-blog/ ) and do occasional author interviews based on the real world aspects of writing for a living. I would love to interview you by email, or in person if you are around after Aug 16. (I'm in Central America until mid August.) Also happy to recommend great Aus experiences if you have holes in the schedule - I'm an Irishwoman who has moved there, so I've done Aus as a tourist myself.

I'd be totally happy to do an interview. Drop a line through my website and we can work something out.

January in Georgia. Bring a jacket as well as short sleeves. The temp could be between 20 degrees F or 80 degrees F. It depends on how many moose there are to provide a buffer to the cold Artic air from filtering down from Canadia. (Ca-NA-dia).
Noted.
I have said this before, I will say it again.

Please don't die.

And now I need to go take a nap. Your schedule has worn me out.
Ooops, sorry.
See you at WesterConChord!

(Also, I'm seconding the "please don't die!" wishes.)
Trying!
Brilliant. I've dutifully and militantly avoided all news and information on the Comic Con this year because I can't go, and now I accidentally read enough to find out that one of my favorite zOmBie authors is going to be there. Woe is me!!!
If you're going to be in Southern California, there may be some off-site events.

My dad has been discussing a possible washington trip this summer. If I am REALLY convincing, I will be in the Seattle area for Murder and Mayhem. Which I am trying not to prematurely glee about and jinx myself.

....Also, I just remembered my partner (who read my copy of FEED after me and loved it just as much) had a question about Kellis-Amberlee - why doesn't the virus amplify in menstrual blood? (and also, why cutting the screamer wires doesn't set off alarms - sie works in IT and thinks it's very bad design. >_>)
So...

1) Menstrual blood doesn't cause amplification because nothing "died"; there was no interruption in the body's electrical flow. Same reason that a clean carrier bleeding doesn't actually pose a contagion risk.

2) Because they had very bad design.
