Totally Tuesday around here.

First up, for those of you who've wondered what it's like to live with my cats, here's a video link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2P0QVvqHys

Now don't say I never gave you anything.

Second up, I have just actually mapped out the remainder of my year, so as to see where the holes are. The holes are...nowhere. I'm booked. Like, until December. And that doesn't count the various things I need to be working on, since they're not so much "events" as they are "endemic conditions." You know, like mono, rather than strep throat. So if I turn down an invitation to come out and be social, it's nothing personal, it's just that I can't afford to catch anything else until I've received some mental medical care, and maybe a nice, long nap.

Third up, I should have the ARCs for An Artificial Night any day now, at which point it will once again be time for our summer giveaways. Get your thinking caps on; I want to have truly awesome contests this time, earth-shaking, world-shattering contests. Or, y'know, at least contests that don't bore me. You know, whichever way turns out to work for folks. Let me know if you have suggestions.

Fourth up, I am most of the way through the Sparrow Hill Road story for August, which may need a different title, since it's turned out to be rather more...antic...than was originally expected (it's currently called "Dead Man's Curve"). This seems to be the obligate humorous episode before things get really, really unpleasant, moving up to the December season finale, "Last Kiss," wherein everything becomes, well. Unpleasant for Rose and company. I've got a little time to work it out before things get really urgent.

Fifth up, today I get to go to my favorite bakery with a camera and a Flip video, where I will thoroughly document the process of Jennifer (the owner) making awesome, awesome brain cupcakes. I then get to walk away with the cupcakes. My life is awesome sometimes.

Sixth up, a request: if you speak any language other than English fluently enough to translate, please reply to this post with the following sentences in whatever languages you can, identifying them clearly:

"The dead are rising/walking! Run for your life!"
"I have been infected. Please shoot me."
"I am not infected. Please do not shoot me."

Thank you!

Los muertos están despertando/andando! Huya para su vida!
He sido inficionado. Disparame, por favor.
No estoy inficionado. No me dispara, por favor.

I'm pretty sure these are correct for Spanish.
Sentences with ! will of course require an upside down ! at the beginning.

Russian:
Мертвые идут! Бежите для вашей жизни!
Я заражен/заражена. Стреляйте в меня, пожалуйста.
Я не заражен/заражена. Не стреляйте в меня, пожалуйста.

French:
Les morts revivent! Courez pour votre vie!
J'ai été infecté. Tirez-moi s'il vous plaît.
Je n'ai pas été infecté. Ne me tirez pas s'il vous plaît.

(I'll give you pronunciation on the phone or when I see you, if you want.) :)
"Ne tirez pas, s'il vous plaît! Je n'ai pas été infecté." Isn't an exact translation, but does start with the all important, "Don't shoot, please!" and then follows with the "I'm not infected." For if you're in more of a rush :)

aww kitties 4 teh win :) I know a little bit of spanish. I don't know the word for infected but "No estoy inferma/o" (I am not sick the "a" is female the "o" is male) and "Estoy inferma/o" (I am sick) and I know "Muertame" is the spanish command phrase for "kill me" That's all I got.
It would me "mátame", actually. You are correct about pointing out masculine/feminine, though. I forgot that part.

THE CUTE YAWNS!

(My kid's going, "That was cute! That was very cute.")
They like showing off their many, many fierce sharp teeth.
I need to trade kitty videos - so that's what blue looks like? I may have a blue tortie - stay tuned.

"Die Toten sind Aufstehen und Gehen! Lauf um dein Leben!" (I've modded that a bit - rising/walking became rising AND walking.)
"Ich bin infiziert. Bitte erschießen Sie mich."
"Ich bin nicht infiziert. Bitte nicht auf mich schießen."

I used a little Google-fu to make sure I spelled everything right, but reading this makes me giggle a bit. And will probably mess up my tenses for the rest of my posting day. But. "Please have shoot me. Please not of me shooting." Giggle.

Tell Jennifer I still think I was a jerk and I owe her shoes and a favor. Maybe more than that.
"Sind Aufstehen" isn't right, is it?

Here are my attempts. I'm not a native German speaker.

"Die Toten erstehen auf! Lauft um ihr Leben!" (I'm assuming plural "you," otherwise "Lauf um dein Leben.")

"Ich bin angesteckt geworden. Bitte erschießen Sie mich."

"Ich bin nicht angesteckt. Bitte erschießen Sie mich nicht."

Er, as a part of studying for my Japanese final, I'll take a shot at translating those to Japanese? Will also probably have them checked by a friend, but. Will let you know. /salute
Oh, that rocks!

Oh cool, just in time for Cake Day! (Don't ask me, someone else made it up, I'm just going along with it.)
Yup.

And they were delicious.

"Ethay eadday areway isingray/alkingway! Unray orfay ouryay
ifelay!"
"Iway avehay eenbay infectedway. Easeplay ootshay emay."
"Iway amway otnay infectedway. Easeplay oday otnay ootshay emay."
HA! WIN!

I might be able to attempt some of the phrases in Scottish Gaelic, but it mostly depends on how useful my books are, lol. Someone else could probably do it better than me.

Hindi: (with the closest literal translation)

Murde chal ne lage hai… bhago apni jaan bacho (The dead are walking, Run for your life)
Mujhe choot ki bimari hai, mujhe maar dalo (I am infected, Kill me)
Mai bimar nahi hoon , mujhe math maaro (I am not infected, Don't kill me)
Awesome!
I don't speak anything, but I am bookmarking this post for future memorization.
Good plan.

I'm fond of them. :)
Hubby will try to translate this into Hebrew. Because what the Middle East peace process needs to really get everybody to step back and take a nice deep breath is a little ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!!

(I know where I'd hide in the zombie apocalypse. My best friend from college's stepdad and brother are crazed survivalists with automatic weapon permits and a first rate security system; this should scare you. It scares me and they're practically family to me. Why they think they need this in the middle of a very expensive and prestigious community on Cape Cod escapes me, but I talked to my friend the other day and he agreed that when the zombies come I can come hide at his house and we will take potshots at the ambulatory deceased with assault rifles as they try to wade through the cranberry bogs.)

Your kitties are very cute and make me miss my kitty.
Hubby's Hebrew isn't that good. If nobody else gets it first, we'll ask a few other Hebrew speakers we know.

I'll get back to this post in Welsh later on, as I'm desperately trying to finish homework on drug addictions.
Awesome!

Shiboshitajin aruite aruitandesu! = The dead people are walking. (I think.) (No, I was right the first time.)

死亡した人 歩いて!

Virus-ni kansenshimashita, watashi-(w)o ut-te-kudasai.
バイルスに 感染しました、私を撃ってください
Virus-ni kanshenshimasendeshita, watashi-(w)o utanai-de-kudasai.
バイルスに 感染しませんでした、私を撃たないでください

Still working on 'run for your life' since it's more semantic.
I would think the 'run for your life' would... probably just end up being simplified to '逃げろ' with the imperative meaning, or perhaps something like, mmm. 生きたいと、逃げろ, with the sense of, 'if you want to live, then run!'?

Plus there are the formality levels... which, ah, if you're asking someone not to shoot you, you might not be so polite!

起きて 'awake' could probably also be used instead of 'walking'?

/goes back to studying for her final, tra la

Irish Gaelic, though I am only a base beginner, and therefore cannot completely testify as to Best and Closest Translation.

Na mairbh siúl! -- The walking dead!
Ar siúl ar feadh do shaoil! -- Run for your lives!
Bhí mé ag ionfhabhtaithe. Lig dom bás. -- I was infected. Let me die.
Ní raibh mé ionfhabhtaithe. Beo Lig dom! -- I was not infected. Let me live!

AngelVixen :-)
Hee. :)
I am no help with translation but wanted to mention that I named my new wireless network April.
Oh, that rules!
I'll leave the Hebrew to those who remember it better than I do.

Love the video of your feline overlords. Quite amused that Alice's tail appears to be longer than the large stack of paperbacks. (Which looked like it included at least two thick Stephen King novels.)
What's scary is that her tail really is longer than the large stack of paperbacks.
Yeesh. I need to drag out my Anglo-Saxon dictionary, unless someone gets there first.
Awesome.

Brilliant!
I don't know any interesting languages (or any languages period) to translate, but I just want to say that Alice is so adorable and fluffy that I am heavily coveting her and/or just a Maine Coon.
She is also heavy and demanding. It's awesome.
Even translating it into "english" is fun. I grew up in Staffordshire, mostly in the Potteries. We used to have a fairly thick accent, it's gotten less broad over the years.

The jed are risin run fer yer life
I yam infected. Kilt me jed
I yam not infected, dunna kilt me jed

Shoot is not a term we used very often. Even our policemen didn't carry guns. Auntie Marion may have some corrections. (G)
Hee!
Alice and Lilly are planning something since you stuck a video camera in their faces now. Hopefully just hairballs in your shoes. :)

Seriously, beautiful kitties!
They staged a sleep-in. It was very effective.
That's one pair of relaxed cats.

On the other hand, it is a Monday. For all I know, they go clubbing on Saturday nights, spend Sunday recovering from the hangover, and relax on Monday as part of the process of building up energy for next Saturday.
Yeah, they're pretty mellow. It's useful.
Have some Mandarin Chinese.

Wo chuanranle, qing qiangsha wo- I've been infected, please shoot and kill me.

Wo bu chuanran, bie fashe- I'm not infected, don't shoot/fire.

Shiti zoulule. Paoba! - The dead are walking. Run away! (Well, the corpses are walking the streets. Chinese has this thing about pairing verbs with nouns. You don't go shopping, you buy things.)

Do you need the tones as well?
That RULES.

I'm good. :)
