I am absolutely delighted to announce the cover release for Nebelbann, the German edition of A Local Habitation. ("Nebelbann" means, roughly, "mist-spell" or "mist-ban." It's a really spiffy compound word, and I'm thrilled.) This is being released by Egmont, my German publisher, and the cover design was done by the artist who designed the cover of Winterfluch.
Behold the pretty:
It's so different from my US covers, and so pretty, that I honestly couldn't be happier. I'm really happy.
That's one of the few great german cover arts. You can be very happy that you got not just one but now two great artworks! I know that I only bought your first book because of the great cover. I was walking through the bookshelves and there in was... it looked so pretty among all the other books. :)
I've been really overjoyed with Egmont and the way they've designed my covers. They're so nice! And they look so pretty alongside the American editions, too. :)
I guess it's partly because I know it's German, but there is something that says "German fantasy novel" about that cover. I guess there is a "house style" of sorts for each nation's publishers. The way that the old UK Discworld covers would have never, ever been used in the US.
That's an awfully pretty cover. I was put in mind of the nibelungs from Wagner. I don't know if there'd be an actual association in German, or if the words are just spelled similarly but actually have no more in common than "horse" and "hoard."
I'm waiting for my copy of "A Local Habitation" not in stock at warehouse so will have to wait for it to wing over the ocean. Have pre-ordered feed, they tell me should be available in June.

She's not ugly. She doesn't wear much makeup, as a rule, but she's not unfortunate-looking, and the coloring of that model is completely accurate.

What means the "Roman" under the title? something to do with the way it is typeset?
