Hooray, hooray, it's Limerick Day! The day of limerick-y goodness! You may recall last year's Limerick Day celebration, which included limerick versions of many classic poems. Then again, you may not. Regardless, this year, I've decided to do something slightly more...interactive...for Limerick Day. Suggest a book, story, or poem that you'd like to see rendered in horrible tawdry limerick form, and watch the magic unfold! The horrifying magic.
I can't promise to limerick every suggestion, and I will eventually lose interest, but it's a party! Let's celebrate!
This is the story of Aziraphale And Crowley, who had not a tail They gave all that they had Guiding the antichrist lad Yet their plans were certain to fail.
Sylvester told Toby to check On his niece, who was risking her neck. Now the stakes are quite high, Who's the next one to die? And is there someone Toby can deck?
Poor Georgie ran after his boat; The clown said "Down here, we all float." Now Stuttering Bill Has a monster to kill, Or It's certain to tear out his throat!
Jayne's hat was a thing so cunning And would not come loose while running Away from blue hands Or his adoring fans And the ladies, they found it quite...... stunning.
The patterns of man always change, And the ways of all strangers are strange. Strike a light, dare the dark If you'd be a Hellspark, And encourage a civil exchange.
The dead with the dead, so they say, But the Doc wouldn't see things that way. His monstrosity walks (In the novel, he walks), And the good doc's been drowned in the bay!
Don't put a book down on its face, Or trust men who come from That Place. Gran tried hard to advise, But our Pol wasn't wise, And got caught in a fairy-time race.
Iron Poet does not happen in this forum, when it happens at all. Following the last round, I announced that there would not be a round for the foreseeable future, due to people being unpleasant and pressuring me.

Ethel the Aardvark Goes Quantity Surveying!

I'm totally kidding.
More seriously, as I see you got my first suggestion (Goblin Market) last year, how about Frankenstein?

Demanded defense from a Dane
For fierce in the fen
Mighty monsters maimed men
Great Grendal gave plenty of pain.
