Comment to win an ARC of FEED.

And now the time has come. The time to give away an ARC of Feed via that time-honored tradition, the random draw. So...

1) Comment here.
2) Tell me your favorite thing about zombies, if you like.
3) Or you can tell me you're excited about the book. Whatever.
4) That's all.

I will draw a winner Monday morning (April 12th); entries will be accepted until then. This contest is open to all countries, because postage is spendy, but zombies are love. One entry per person, please.

Game on!

Are the zombies in FEED able to vote? (That might make them smarter than the average tea partier.)

I can hardly wait until I can get FEED signed at Marcon!
Three words: Guiltless killing spree.

This is assuming shambling early-Romero zombies, not weirdly-sociopolitical quasi-still-alive late-Romero zombies. This is also assuming they're not the kind of zombies I personally write about, who would tend to take great offense at my words.
Hmmm. My favorite thing about zombies is thinking about whether they could be used as a compost equivalent in carniculture.

Well, no, that's not my favorite thing, but it's what I'm thinking about today. I think my favorite thing about zombies is that if they existed, it would justify my purchase of a titanium Halligan bar.
Excited for the book because my husband likes zombies and likes politics so I'm hoping I can get him hooked!
I am totally excited about the book! I want politics with my zombies!

Also, I agree with the commenter who said that when the zombie apocalypse comes, we're all screwed, because we've heard so damn many rumors about how to kill a zombie that when the time comes, no one's going to agree, and we'll stand around arguing until we're eaten. Or, we'll fight, but of course pick the wrong method.
Hmm...the thing I like most about zombies is how adaptable they are to metaphor (mindless consumerism, communism, conformity vs. non-conformity, us vs them, etc.) and that they work as horror, humor, social commentary, or a mix thereof. I posit that you can tell or retell any story, myth, or allegory with zombies and still have the story have a real impact.

And who doesn't love trying to figure out how they'd survive the zombie apocalypse?
I am beyond words excited about this book. :)
Dude, I am IN.

My favorite thing about zombies: the scary number of dreams I have had that combine Great Big Sea and zombies in some form. Like that time when I was about to go to a GBS show just after Shaun of the Dead came out and I woke up thinking that Alan Doyle bellowing "VERTICAL MOVEMENT" during the bridge of a song would be an entirely different experience with an audience of zombies.

I mean, it's very difficult to keep your undead limbs intact when you're bouncing up and down.
I am super-excited about the book! I love zombies both for being terrifying and brain-nibbly, and also for weirdly appropriate social commentary!

Also, can we say determination? NOTHING will stop that zombie from getting to your delicious gray matter.
I am excited about this book because I loved The West Wing and I love stories about political goings-on, and having zombies there in the backdrop is the awesomest idea!
So many of the things you were researching when you were writing this are interests of mine that my lack of interest in zombies doesn't deter me from really wanting to read the book.
My favorite thing about zombies at the moment is that I got my kids to walk into a room with their mothers, extend their arms, and walk towards them chanting "braaaaainns..."
Okay, Seanan, here's my comment:

-------------
OMGosh I am SOOOOO excited about getting this book, either in ARC or just regular release form into my hands!

Has everybody seen that Publisher's Weekly STARRED review? It was a rave.

Love Zombies, wonder about the news we watch, and think you're the bomb.

I hope that the random quarks and gluons of the universe select the pixels comprising my post!!!!!

--------------

I now return to being serious and formal.
I am always offering to eat my clients and friends because they're made of meat.

I will buy your book on May 1st eiher way, so I prolly shouldn't win one here, but I have to try. It would be cool to have one.
I love zombies because they make my friend Seanan so happy. I am looking forward to Feed to see if there are any other things about zombies I might like. I am a wimp when it comes to scary stuff and am only starting to explore the horror genre so maybe there will be some new favorite things about zombies after reading Feed.
I wanted to say my favorite [thing about] zombies was the Zomboni, but I think technically that one is an alien, so I'll go with the Balloon Zombie instead because I like his beanie.
Very very excited about this book!
Moop?

I'm more of the 'books about politics and blogging are love', but doesn't have anything against zombies. Usually they just seem to be used as background elements, the unknowable Them.

Oh, I got Rosemary and Rue today :)
My favorite thing about zombies? I love when they stop in the middle of a horrible murder spree to do the Necronomicon.
I love how excited you are about the book. :-)

And zombies ... hmm. Braaaaiiiinnss.
I love zombies because they eat their creators.
I'm looking forward to the new book :) It'll be interesting to see how you deal with zombies.
Books are food for thought. I'm excited about stuffing my brain full of new Seanan Zombie ideas.

ALTHOUGH... brains are food for Zombies. Sometimes it's good to be Pooh (a bear of very little brains).

If I get my brain down to Pooh size (to be safe from zombies), will I still be able to read and understand FEED? This seems quite a dilemma.
I am excited about Feed, because I love the October Daye series, and I'm curious to see what you can do for Zombies.

I love Zombies, because they are mindless creatures, whose only need is to feed, and there is nothing better than watching a bunch of survivors fight off a horde. Well except for playing Left 4 Dead, and taking them out myself. If you ever get a chance, try the game, it's awesome when you blow up the boomers. The top part of the body explodes, and it leaves this bowl like shape of their bowls left in their lower half. My friends and I call it Boomer Bits--sounds like cereal doesn't it?

Peace out and good luck during the Z-Apocalypse!
My favorite thing about zombies is that they're so versatile while still being zombies! I mean, seriously, you have plague!zombies, you have magic!zombies, you have quick!zombies and your classic shambling flavor, zombies that lose all intelligence immediately and zombies that are quite clever until the brainmeats rot. And so on and so forth! They're just so fun!

And now, politics and zombies! Like West Wing meets Dawn of the Dead with an extra dash of epic. I. cannot. wait. /bouncing in excitement
