Save your receipts, win a book!

To celebrate the announcement of the fourth and fifth books in the Toby Daye series, we're having a little contest! Namely...

1. If you have purchased either Toby book since the official release of A Local Habitation (March 2nd, 2010), post or email me* a picture of your receipt. Make sure I can tell which book it was for.

2. I will put your name in a spreadsheet.

3. On April 1st, I will choose five names at random from the spreadsheet. Those five people will win the book they didn't send me the receipt for.

What does this mean? Well, it means you could win a signed copy of either book. Or, if you've been looking at the series and wondering whether you're ready to jump in, you can pick up a copy of Rosemary and Rue and potentially get a copy of A Local Habitation right about when you're really starting to yearn for more Toby. Or you can direct your friends over here as a chance to get a foothold in a new series. Whatever makes you happy.

Also, to clarify a few points: In this instance, the contest is hard-copy book purchases only, since that's what I have to send as prizes, and is US/Canada only. I do lots of "no purchase required" contests, so we'll just roll with this one being a little specialized, okay?

Game on!

HTML is broken for the link, I think, since I am guessing you didn't mean for almost the entire post to be a link.

Also, I shall boost the signal.
Thanks.

Does forwarding you the Amazon email acknowledging the order work?

Actually, amending: yes AND no. Please send a picture of the printed receipt that comes with the shipped book (which also means you could send me a picture of the book, maybe with a cute pet...).

It's a tracking mechanism.

Yes, and yes, and I received your mail!
Bugger, I think I've thrown out the receipts. You'd think with THIS MUCH RANDOM CRAP in my apartment, they'd still be sitting around. One day, it all will eat me. Oh, well. ;)
Alas!
"hard-copy book purchases only"

You could make it really difficult by saying "hard-COVER purchases only" (which is how I originally read it). Since it is only available in paperback, it seems...
Thhhhhpppppppt.
Aw, I never keep my book receipts because I know there's no way I'll be returning'em, hehe.

Ah, well, luck to all the folks who're more organized than me!
Next time, Gadget, next time.
<_< @_@ Um. I've been buying both books...a lot...since the release. Tell you what. I'll go get you some receipts if you'll donate the prizes to a public library of your choice. If I win...and stuff. Deal?
Works for me.
Save my receipts? I usually tell the cashier to keep them. Ah well. We have both.
Cool beans.
Two problems with this -- 1) I bought the book 10 days before the release date and 2) like some of the previous posters, I never save book receipts. Books are meant to be kept. Also, I already have both books and enjoyed them very much so I am happy, happy that DAW will be publishing more for you.
That's fair, and also, yay. :)

Sadly, I won't be at BayCon this year. I'm Music GoH at MarCon that weekend, in Columbus, Ohio.
I was going to send you a copy of my bookpusher's billing email, but then I remembered that I picked it up at B&N (not having the faintest idea what the second book was called, or when it would be out!) when my son was there to buy more manga. Tossed the receipt! However, now that you have the names of the next two volumes, I'll put that in a wantlist note to my bookpusher, and she'll add it to my list. She's in WI, I'm in the Bay Area, and I've been using her for 6 or more years, since Amazon first did something I didn't like (in relation to how authors were treated), for books, new, used, and HTF. I get a shipment once a month.
Whoops!

Also, yay!

Because I remembered that you said "save your receipts - there will be a quiz contest later"!
Wendy-lady,
Did you *really* want to show everyone on the internet your address?
(Well, ok, just the intelligent, discerning ones that read high-quality books like Rosemary&Rue, etc., but still...)

:)

Like many others, I doubt I still have the receipt, though unlike many, I did not buy it early -- my book pushers are sticklers for street dates. I did, however, read it early, as the bestest book pusher evar sent me her ALH ARC when she was done with it. Which is now either still with the friend who loaned me her R&R ARC, or has been eaten by a postal grue; I should check on that...

(Just to be clear, despite reading both books pre-release, I also purchased them retail when they were available. I want DAW to see sales, and you to see royalties.)
Which I very much appreciated, believe you me. :)
I emailed you the pictures to your LJ email, but just in case i wrote it wrong...i posted the picture on my LJ.

I received your entry! Thank you. :)
