In honor of George Romero's birthday, I am giving away an ARC of Feed to one lucky commenter. This is a random draw giveaway. At noon Pacific tomorrow, I will use my magical random number generator and select a winner. They will then have until noon Pacific on Sunday to send me their mailing information (through my website), or I will pick another winner.
So please! Comment! Tell me your favorite thing about zombies, or why you want to read Feed, or what you'll do if you win, or whatever. (I mean, a comment beyond just "comment" is nice, but not strictly required.)
George Romero gave the world zombies. In honor of his birthday, so do I. Because zombies are love.
I want to read Feed because: 1. You are AMAZING, and I can't imagine Feed being anything less than amazing as well. 2. I am currently BEYOND OBSESSED with zombies. (As World War Z, Breathers and Cell (though Cell is not technically zombies, but it's close) will attest!)
Also, if I win? I will post a TIMELY REVIEW (ahem, I promise) and tell everyone I know to read it. :D
Well although Zombies are cool I think the main reason I want to read it is because I really love the way you write characters. I am a very character driven reader and all of yours are enjoyable to read :) Most of them are like old friends now, but I could always do with some new friends :)
My favourite thing about zombies is that the loveable buggers have given rise to SO MANY good film, comics, and prose. And they've also given rise to crap-but-fun films, comics and prose; without zombies I could never see Judge Hershey of Mega-City One shooting a zombie in half while yelling to someone "I'm BUSY, damn it!".
"MATT!" Charlie shouted as he shoved opened the door to his big, red-headed friend's office. "That Seanan girl is doing it again!"
BiddiFLAP, BiddiFLAP, BiddiFLAP was the sound that greeted him, instead of Matt's usual boistrous "It's your turn to bring the Doughnuts!"
Charlie slid to a halt as his brain abruptly acanned what was happening in the room. His friend Matt, was struggling with a zombie, forcing it backwards against his desk, one hand locked around it's decaying throat, the other gripping a desk lamp, slamming it into its face, the cord whipping around and slapping everything indiscriminately.
Charlie hopped over to the umbrella stand and selected a nice aluminum bat and smashed the unwelcomed zombies skull, ending it's animation. He dropped the now gory bat and said, "What is it with you and zombies? Seriously, is it your cologne?."
Matt backed away from the now dead undead and started scrapping gunky gore off his arms and face. "Don't know," he replied, "But what was you saying about Seanan McGuire?"
"Oh," Charlie said, now back on track, "I read on her website that she's giving away an autographed machete."
"What about her new book?" Matt asked.
"Yeah, one of those also," Charlie said, "but the important thing is the autographed machete."
Brains!!!! Zombies scare the ever-loving hell out of me, but I love them. My close friends (firestrike and besspeacetime) have forbidden me to watch or read zombie stuff after dark, because they got tired of me telling them I slept badly with all the lights on.
I want to read Feed because i haven't really read any book with zombies in it and i really enjoy your October Daye novels and i am sure it is just as great!
I had a terrible, terrible nightmare last night about my family turning into zombies and coming downstairs and eating me. While yes, Freud would have a field day, I feel that I can now justify myself by claiming that my brain was just celebrating early.
Also. FEED. Most highly anticipated of your upcoming books. *happy sigh*
Pacific is GMT -8:00. If someone replies to say "so-and-so is at VDF," I'll extend the deadline for them by twelve hours. The winner announcement will effectively be going up at 8:00 PM Friday night for y'all.
Heck, I don't even know who George Romero is. I'm not a zombie type. But - you wrote it - and so far, I tend to really enjoy your work. So I want to read Feed because you wrote it.
Who knows? Maybe I'll become a zombie fan. Stranger things have happened.
