In honor of George Romero's birthday, I am giving away an ARC of Feed to one lucky commenter. This is a random draw giveaway. At noon Pacific tomorrow, I will use my magical random number generator and select a winner. They will then have until noon Pacific on Sunday to send me their mailing information (through my website), or I will pick another winner.
So please! Comment! Tell me your favorite thing about zombies, or why you want to read Feed, or what you'll do if you win, or whatever. (I mean, a comment beyond just "comment" is nice, but not strictly required.)
George Romero gave the world zombies. In honor of his birthday, so do I. Because zombies are love.
I Rose in 1596 from under a pile of plague-ridden corpses. Therefore I must be Dead. And so I dance the dusty streets to remind you forever to Danse today for tomorrow the Danse is over.
I want to read Feed because I think it's a zombie book I'll actually like. Zombies scare me, and I enjoy your writing, plus I could read it and then tell ladydrakaina whether or not she'll want to put the book in the freezer. :D
Much like sheistheweather, I am scared of zombies. However, I love your writing and don't want to miss out! So I wish for an ARC because I don't know if I could get up the nerve to read it otherwise.
Please enter me! :-) In honor of zombies, and Mr Romero's birthday, I think I'll watch Dawn of the Dead again this weekend (don't have the original, unfortunately), and I'll also post the first South African review of Feed. :-)
I don't really have a favorite thing about Zombies - they're just gruesomely cool.
Also, I am totally jealous that tystel won the interfilk auction for "Feed" at Conflikt. *sigh* Too rich for my blood, but I still want to read it! Rawr!
I have to confess. Reading about zombies kind of makes me picture what its like in my office every day. I go into work, drool and think about brains all day. And I notice every once in a while my co-workers shambling past and muttering something about wanting brains.
I am beginning to wonder if they are piping something through the air vents and if someday I will leave and find out being a zombie has become a permanent condition.
Since I happen to live in the Pittsburgh area, close to the home of some of Romero's movies...For some reason, it wouldn't surprise me if the local corporations got their ideas from Romero.
I need to read this book because everything that contains zombies is legally brilliant. I've also been told that if it wasn't for George Romero, Google would have managed to unleash a virus that meant zombies would crawl out of our keyboards and take up space in living rooms around the world. True story.
I got this as a belated Christmas present. It might amuse you, it has amused me. I wonder if I could get my children to dress up as zombie elves for Halloween this year, and go caroling?
I love zombies because they are awesome. I love zombie stories because they give me characters being driven together, creating new and sometimes unlikely bonds, living in odd and frequently fortified surroundings, and weapons. Lots and lots of weapons.
It's all of the real-world range of human emotions with less of the real-world gravity. Much in the same way that vampirism can represent repressed emotions and our desire to be remembered, and lycanthropy holds so many similarities to mental illness, for me, zombies are the will to survive.
