100 things that make me happy.

At the risk of sounding sappy, here are things that make me happy.

I think that everyone has certain things that make them unconditionally happy. Because it is a stressful and dismal day, I'm updating my list of some of the things that work for me. It's good to be happy.

I hope you eventually got the pumpkin spice candle I sent you; it was a little while ago but I've had problems with a couple of things not making it to their destination :-(

That's a wonderful list. Some but not all of the things that make me happy include, in no particular order:

The Internet
The first few notes of "Le Jazz Hot" from Victor, Victoria. The rest of the number is also nifty, but that first little run of notes gives me shivers every time I hear it.
"Classical Gas"
Mannheim Steamroller
Pictures of cats. Actual cats, too, but I have to be careful of them because I'm moderately allergic, and breaking out in hives does not make me happy.
"Rhapsody in Blue"
My friends, many of whom live in the Internet
Really good hamburgers
Chocolate
Dale
Air travel -- my three favorite bits are takeoff, landing, and turbulence. Yes, I like turbulence. My least favorite bit is security theatre (tm Bruce Schneier).
Amusement park rides and state fair rides
Fair(e) Food -- including but not limited to funnel cake, Navajo Tacos, giant turkey legs, and Stuff Onna Stick
The existence of Patrick Stewart
Decaf coffee
Decaf diet cola. Yes, I know -- if I don't want the sugar or the caffeine, why don't I just drink water? Answer, because I like the *taste* of cola beverages.
The existence of Leslie Fish

Having a steady job that pays good money and has benefits
Modern medicine -- although that may be more a matter of "grateful for" than "made happy by"

Is this autumn mix the candy with candy corn and pumpkins, by chance? I was thinking weather, a sort of version of wintry mix, but then googled. Also, speaking of new Stephen King books, I saw one in a bookstore display the other day and my immediate thought was that I must have missed your reference to it.

- my boots
- the growl my small cat makes when she's slain a bird/mouse and is threatening you with a similar fate should you try and take her prey from her
- the way my large cat stretches out like an upside-down superman in my arms when he's feeling lazy, which is pretty much always

- hugging my toy panda

- black tea in most of its incarnations. without caffeine, there is no life.
- filk - because where else will I find songs about buckets of creepy and superhero operas?
- my magic phone. books, the best of my music, and internet whenever I want them. I seriously can't help but think of it as magic. I would have given my canines for a device that did one of these things in high school. and internet was Mosaic back then, seriously.
- the internet. i have been in love with it since web pages took minutes to load, the browser was Mosaic and my professors were just beginning to talk about how cite internet sites.
- the fact that urban fantasy is filled with kickass heroines.
- gaming.
- did I mention tea? which lets me enjoy all of the above by being awake!
- Stewart's Rootbeer. Stewart's Cream Soda. Stewart's Orange and Cream.
The fact that I can now get all of those at the store by my work, even though they are only an east coast brand.
- my oven. which lets me make tasty, tasty treats.
