Safely home, COVERED in cats.

My flight back from Seattle to San Francisco touched down about twenty minutes before eight last night. We were actually early, which was a trifle annoying, as it meant that all the post-landing announcements interrupted the episode of The Wizards of Waverly Place that I'd been watching (yes, I am a total dork). Oh, well. At least it was one I'd seen before. I collected my suitcase from the baggage claim, met Mom at the escalator, and was promptly toted across the Bay Area to home, where I was greeted by a stack of mail and two incredibly irritated blue cats.

People who haven't met my cats often fail to understand exactly how good they are at making their annoyance known. These people need to be shut in a room with Lilly, Alice, and an empty food dish for half an hour. At the end of this time, they will understand a) that my cats are perfectly capable of explaining, in the detail, their displeasure, and b) I should get hazard pay for entering the house without feather toys and treats.

Thankfully, my girls aren't good at being mad for long. After a night of cuddling and a morning spent watching Boa vs. Python (with the pair vying for dominion over my lap), I seem to have been essentially forgiven. They still aren't letting me out of their sight, but that isn't all that unusual.

Over the course of my time in Seattle, I ate cupcakes, baked a turkey, made insane numbers of cookies, saw Die Hard for the first time, went to several bookstores, gave a concert, embarked on a successful quest for cranberries, reached 90,000 words on Blackout, formally turned in the first Sparrow Hill Road story, watched all of season one of Glee, played with kittens, rewrote about half my website, and hugged many people I love.

It was a good holiday break. I hope yours was just as lovely.

Welcome home. My holidays sound like they were quieter than yours, and certainly involved less travel (I've left the house a grand total of twice since December 23), but they were very nice. I'm glad to hear you made it home safely, and also that I'm not the only "grown-up" who watches The Wizards of Waverly Place. :-D

Definitely not the only one! I need my regular Russo fix, or I get grumpy.
I'm glad you had a good holiday. I must say, I absolutley love the way you describe your cats haha. They sounds like lovely individuals =P Ahh. I do miss my kitties.
They're lovely, and also quite possibly serving the forces of darkness. It's difficult to say for sure.
My brother and I respectfully request more kitty pictures.
Tragically, I have not yet been able to buy a camera to replace the one that Alice killed (she swatted it off a high shelf). There will be no further cat pictures for some time.
Had I known that before your concert I have two digital cameras that are not currently in use at my house and haven't been in some time. Arrangements may be made if you are interested. I will see if I can find the cameras when I get back to WA and email you some specs. At the very least they could be delivered at Conflikt.
This is relevant to my interests! Conflikt would be awesome.

Now I have a machine gun! Ho ho ho.
When I had girl-cats, they followed me from room to room like puppies, and the moment I sat down they were in my lap. The variant version - Sophie's Variation - was when Sophie rode from room to room on my shoulders, which was her preferred mode.

The boys are much more independent - in the summer months. As soon as the weather turns chilly, they allow as how they might be lap-cats after all...
My girls are definitely most likely to be found where I am. Preferably close enough to attack the forces of darkness when they come for me.

What are your boys named?
Heh. I am responsible for neither of these, but they are Barry and Mac. (This is Barry in the icon; Mac features on other occasions. They do not appear together, for increasingly-obvious reasons.) Barry was found - in a parlous state - on Barry Street, so the nurses named him that. When I adopted him, I swore he should have another name, for never was a cat called Barry - but I was kinda outvoted on that one, by all the world. So Barry he is, tho' it's short for various things. Often Barabbas, for he is an accomplished thief.

Mac came via a little old deceased lady, who had called him Macadamia because he's nuts. Mostly these days it's short for Macavity, for ... etc.
Ahem: KITTIES.
I'm on Winter Break from my first winter of college, and I decided I want to watch all the Disney movies I used to love. My mother is watching them with me, and we curled up together like we used to when I was little. We just finished watching The Little Mermaid. I have to say that except for "Under the Sea", I like your version better. :P

Also, my brother just visited with his dog. My adolescent kitten had her fur sticking out every which way for at least half an hour. That is, after I found her squished as far as she could go in the corner of the windowsill next to our hutch. It was pathetic and funny all at once.
Awwwwww. Poor kitten, menaced by Godzilla...

Now I'm picturing the characters from my version performing "Under the Sea." It's much bloodier this way.
saw Die Hard for the first time,
What! Did you like it? Now you will appreciate "The Clotharian Contamination Protocol" so much more.
I did like it! I want a machine gun.
Ho ho ho.
Glad you had a good holiday! I went to Target and bought the Glee Dvd too but just found out fox is adding another 9 more episode to season1 which won't air till March!
Yup. It's a half-and-half season, unfortunately, but I figure it's worth buying the season halves separately if that tells Fox to keep Glee on the air.

Plus now I can watch Sectionals over and over and over again.
