Productivity is tiring.

So in the last seventy-two hours, I have...

...finished "Good Girls Go To Heaven," the first Sparrow Hill Road story, and returned it to my editor for review. (I like to be early, so that there's time for me to be thoroughly edited.) I'll probably be starting "Dead Man's Party" in a day or so.

...finished "The Alchemy of Alcohol," my first-ever steampunk story (also my first story about Mina Norton, alchemist, bartender, and exceedingly cranky native of San Francisco). It was ludicrously fun to write. Mina is refreshingly annoyed.

...started "Gimme A 'Z'!"—which, as you can probably guess from the title, is the next adventure of the Fighting Pumpkins cheerleading squad. The wearing of little pleated orange and green skirts is clearly dangerous, given the trouble these girls manage to get themselves into.

...started "Slow," a much more viscerally upsetting zombie story. It's a zombie week here at Casa de Blonde.

...written way too much of Blackout, which probably explains why I have so many zombies on the brain right now. I love this series a lot. I'll love it even more when I get about another five thousand words on in the current book, since that will mean it's time to pause, consider, and process edits. (Yes, I really do schedule everything.)

...finished reviewing my page proofs for Feed. Alive or dead, the truth won't rest. Rise up while you can.

My new website will be going live real soon now, which means new material, including the Toby FAQ and the Sparrow Hill Road landing page. Watch this space for details. I am now going to go extract my Maine Coon from my purse.

I find myself unable to read the word Feed without thinking about you and zombies. Which is a strange mental place to be in when I'm reading the local food bank's Christmas appeal.
Rock on. That means I win.
Oo.

Yay, steampunk!

It's a little scary, really.

I kind of want pictures, since... kitty!
She gets puffier EVERY DAY.

Now if I can just keep it up for the rest of the month...
The phrase "the next adventure of the Fighting Pumpkins cheerleading squad" suggests there's a first one around someplace. Any tips on where to look?
The first Fighting Pumpkins adventure, "Dying With Her Cheer Pants On," will be appearing in the March 2010 edition of Apex Digest. I promise to let you know as soon as it's available!

That must be either 1.) an enormous purse, 2.) a bag of holding, or 3.) a subspecies of extra furious dwarf main coon kitty. I felt justified saying 2 because I picked up the term from friends who play, and therefore it is not overused in my vocabulary as of yet. :)
Oh, Alice is ENORMOUS. She is SUPER-SIZED GIANT KITTY. She just genuinely believes that if she can get her head into the purse, she becomes totally invisible (she's wrong).

Productivity also spreads the glee! Even previous productivity!

Received my cover flat today - THANK YOU! :)
And was just informed that my library's copy of R&R should be in next week, and they've already confirmed purchase plans for Local Habitation :) She wasn't sure about Feed, but i'm keeping an eye on things :)

Really looking forward to all the teasers above; especially Mina :) She sounds like...fun :) In a special Seanan way :)

*huggs&love*
Yay and yay and yay! You are full of yay. :)
Ooh kitty!

...I miss my cats. A lot. Even so, I'd go "Ooh kitty!" if I wasn't living without cats until Winter Break.

Alice sounds absolutely adorable.
She is. She's also insane, and roughly the size of a small yeti.
Damn. You have more productivity outside of the day job than most of us have in the day job.
It's my magical gift. That, and immunity to caffeine overdose.
The next time anyone tells me I'm crazy for writing half a novel in two weeks, I am going to point them here with pointy fingers of doom and be all, see? Crazier, more productive people *do* exist, and they are infinitely cooler than me!
We're all mad here.
Mina Norton of San Francisco? Any relation to a certain Emperor also of that city? (Said Emperor is one of my favourite characters in history, and I have a soft spot for that city because of the way they treated him. I haven't seen anywhere that G.K.Chesterton's novel "The Napoleon of Notting Hill" was influenced by Emperor Norton, but the latter was certainly a very Chestertonian character.)
I don't know, actually. I suppose I'll find out, if she keeps showing up...
"It's a zombie week here at Casa de Blonde."

Is there a week that *isn't* zombie week at your place? Unless you aren't there, of course?
Sometimes it's My Little Pony week.

It's statements like this that keep me chuckling.

My tan tabby will occasionally decide to try to poke around in my purse, sometimes trying to extract my keys with his teeth. He gets very startled when my phone goes off, though, especially since it vibrates before it rings :-P
WIN!
