Sunday morning, yellow sky.

I actually got a Google Alert for Mira Grant that was about, well, me, rather than some random assortment of words that managed to trigger my poor dumb little spider! Damon at BSC posted his thoughts on the 2010 Orbit catalog, including some comments about Feed. Quote, "I think it could make a splash. I normally do not read these types of books, but I am willing to make an exception, I believe, for Mira."

Damon, I am going to do my damnedest not to let you down. And that is a promise from me to you.

Meanwhile, the Warren Public Libraries in Warren, Michigan had some really sweet things to say about Rosemary and Rue, including "It’s a gripping mystery with a lot of urban fantasy thrown in to the mix" and "Fans of any urban fantasy will do well here." There's also a strong recommendation for fans of Jim Butcher's work to give mine a look. From your words to the Great Pumpkin's ears, Warren Public Libraries!

Alice is sopping wet, thanks to my having had a minor bathtub incident, and is now squelching around the house like an animate mop. Attempts to dry her have been met with the cat equivalent of "No, Mom, don't wanna," so I figure I'll let her be wet for a little while longer before I bust out the blow-dryer. It's good when you can satisfy your cats with simple inaction. (Much better than being punched awake at 6:30 AM to provide affection, which was how we started our day. The joy of cats.)

My cheeks have swollen to the point that I really, really look like someone's been beating me, making me super-glad that Chris didn't come to hang out today; I would've been afraid to go out of the house in his company, since I try not to get my friends accused of introducing their fists to my face. If there were a zombie walk today, I would so rule the undead dance floor. As it is, I'm taking lots of painkillers and praying that the swelling goes down before I have to go back to work tomorrow morning. And that's the news from the pumpkin patch. What's new and cool in the world of you?

I think it could make a splash.
I have been telling you this for yonks.
I'm the author! I'm not supposed to be smugly assured of my own success!
Hope mouth feels better soon.

Am lobbying family for FEED as birthday present as it comes out in May
This sounds like an excellent plan. Since it's a premium paperback (rather than a hardcover), it should even be affordable without real trouble!
Rosemary and Rue finally came from amazon uk the other day and I devoured it happily. Wow. Such a good read, so many novel ideas, well written, humourous, gripping plot, want to read the sequel now. Which if it takes as flippin' long to turn up on this side of the Pond may involve using Amazon.com for once.

I got sleep! That's pretty awesome in and of itself.

I hope your swelling goes down soon. I remember what that's like from when I had the jaw surgery. Owie.
Hooray for sleep!
It's a comparatively quiet day around here. I hope yours goes well.

I devoured Rosemary and Rue this week, and am now muttering, "Gotta wait, damn it" to myself.
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The next one is definitely on schedule for its March 2nd release, so the clock is ticking down!
I am making satisfactory progress on CHRISTMAS S'PRISES! :D

Also there is pretty pretty rain falling.
Sunshine girl loves the pretty rain? Wow, you are ready for me to come visit.

I now have a copy of a holiday CD by Peter, Paul and Mary. And am in a Christmas mood that I hope wears off before I go home and my mom kills me for it.

Also, a cat-man spontaneously appeared in my NaNo novel. He is awesome. And for next year, I'm wondering what would happen if I turned an entire marching band into zombies (I've also been listening to the Music Man soundtrack and "The Ultimate Horror Movie Album").

Hope your jaw feels better soon.

GOOD TIMES.

Good times will happen.

Thanks to parental kindness I got to spend last night in a premise with actual air-conditioning, rather than my boiler-box little apartment. (Seriously, it's cooler outside than in my place.) But then, I'm moving in a month. And I'm going away for two weeks of that to catch up with awesome friends and attend weddings and birthdays and generally rock out and have fun.

Also, we're getting closer and closer to Feed, which is the book I've had my eye on as 'when can I read that one?' since I first chanced upon your musings. I expect to be totally freaked out and totally love it anyway.
This "climate" thing never falls to bewilder and amaze me. I'm in California, land of palm trees and sunshine, and I'm freezing my tailfeathers off. Seriously, SO COLD.

I'm planning to get really excited about Feed just as soon as it sinks in that 2010 is subtitled "The Year of Crazy."
Sounds to me like you have an EXCELLENT excuse to eat as much ice cream as you want! (Cause you know, it would be tastier and a little more normal looking than holding an ice pack up to your face...)
Sadly, the swelling is located such that this excuse holds little water. I just look beaten-up. :(

I saw this in the grocery store yesterday, and was terrified.

Clearly this is something that'll be needed at the book release parties.
OMG YES.

Absolutely.
Just got back from a fun weekend at Philcon.

Managed to perform a decent concert set yesterday despite a developing sore throat. Actually had non-filkers stop in the hall to listen while I was doing "Songs Flying Free".

Spent far too much money at Larry Smith's table. But my stack included an official copy of Rosemary & Rue, so it was clearly money well spent! 8-)
Yay official copies! Thank you, sweetie.
I actually have nothing to say except: Yay October Project! <3
Have you heard November Project?

I am going to be so much glee when my preordered Feed arrives. (I will be similarly glee when A Local Habitation does the same. Where did I put Rosemary and Rue anyway? I think my bed ate it...)

He's right, Feed does have an awesome cover. I would have wanted to read it to find out what it was about even if it wasn't yours, but it would have been more likely to be from the library, instead of MUST PREORDER :P

Also, goddamn I love your CDs which I am still listening to more than anything else weeks after they all finished arriving. You are awesome. And so is the fact that you write music about plagues.
Beds like eating books. Scientific fact.

I'm fairly fond of my CDs, too, so thank you! I'm hard at work on the fourth one, in the sense that "hard at work" means "prodding at whenever studio time works out for all parties involved."

"I think it could make a splash."

Sort of like Alice? :)
Hopefully with less chance of water damage...
