A LOCAL HABITATION ARC giveaway #2!

It's time to get ready for the second A Local Habitation ARC giveaway of the season! Yaaaay! Now that we've all flailed around like Muppets on an electrified floor for a few minutes, here's the way this particular giveaway is going to work:

1. Get a camera.
2. Get a copy of Rosemary and Rue.
3. Get a pet.
4. Combine.

This contest, originally suggested by The Agent, is simple: take pictures of your pets (or the pets of someone else you know) hanging out with a copy of Rosemary and Rue, and submit them here. All pets are eligible. Cats, dogs, pythons, spiny African flower mantises, whatever you have and trust with your book, they're all invited to this party.

Be creative. Be dramatic. Have fun. Do not allow your Burmese python to swallow your book (it would be bad for the snake). Post your pictures here; after Thanksgiving, we'll open to voting, and winners will be selected. Winner #1 will get their choice of an ARC of A Local Habitation or a signed cover flat of A Local Habitation. Winner #2 will get whatever winner #1 didn't select, that being the way we roll around here.

I'm now imagining the whole cast of the Muppet Show jerking around on an electrified floor. Except for Statler and Waldorf, of course. They're up in the balcony pointing and laughing.

You can borrow the neighbors. If you have a friend who works at Marine World, you can borrow a dolphin. Any animal will do!

Ack! Dane & camera are here, but my copy of the book is a state away with my mother! Hmmm... but I will be up there for Thanksgiving, also with Dane & camera... this could still work...

Working on it. My animals think I'm insane. My copy of R&R will never look the same. Dog slobber and birdie nibbles. Will hopefully have them soon. This...was not easy.

Once I find a charged camera, I'll give this a shot!

Don't expect too much, though, one of my cats is part Siamese, and the other is difficult on a good day. :)

All right, here are my entries. I hope three is ok, I have to keep the kids apart. I like taking pictures, I like my silly pets, and I like books. But putting them together was far harder than I thought. I have done photoshoots with the critters before, but never with a book.

I think Nano is trying to take Toby somewhere. Or perhaps just the whole book.


The dog couldn't figure out what I wanted and was upset the whole time and the bird only wanted to sit on my hand or run right up to the camera. Alas.

I can never get the proper lighting/sharpness unless I'm outdoors in sunshine, it seems. May try again later, if the weather improves.

Hmm, this smells interesting

(yes, my living room is full of clutter, including 1/4 of a tree. I'm going to try to turn it into cat furniture.)

just want to clarify what the last day is to post a picture? being a Canadian, not sure what day Thanksgiving is in the US, though I know its this weekend...
