When will you rise?

To begin with, here is today's exciting press release of awesome exciting awesomeness:

The cover graphic for Feed has been officially released by my publisher (Orbit).

Click for the artist's commentary, and then come back to join me in squealing, flailing excitement. Feed is the first of three volumes in the Newsflesh trilogy, all of them being released under my pseudonym, Mira Grant. Feed will be on shelves in May 2010 (yes, the same month as my appearance at MarCon in Columbus, Ohio—when they invited me, they got two guests for the price of one). Which brings us to...

...my page proofs for Feed arrived today, and they are intense. Thank the Great Pumpkin that I have some long stints on airplanes coming up, because otherwise I'd worry about my capacity to finish reviewing a manuscript of this length in the time allotted. As it stands, the folks at OVFF may see a lot less of my smiling face than they were expecting, because I have got a lot of work to do. But it will all be worth it, and it will all be completely awesome when it's done.

The end of the world was just the beginning.

When will you rise?

My love for this cover is epic.
I want it as a big-ass poster to hang on my wall, I really, really do. It's just gorgeous.

That cover is incredible. Pretty chilling, too, and if I was excited about the book before (and I was), I'm now desperate for it.
I really, really, really love this cover, and I really, really, really love this book. I can't wait for it to get out there in the world.

I love this cover... and second the desire to have one in poster form.
And just imagine what they're going to do for the other two!
Wow. Awesome cover. Congrats!
I'm so thrilled.
Eeeee awesome cover.
Sooooooooooooo happy.
I'll admit I am hesitant to read this book since horror novels aren't usually my thing but reading the artists description has me curious enough that I am really looking forward to reading it.
I do not like horror books. I like this book better than I like Toby, and since Toby rocks my world, that is saying something huge. Give this series a chance.

That is a gorgeous cover.
I am so excited.
SWEET. Bring it on, I'll be delighted to tear through this one. :D
Just as long as you wait a little while before asking when you'll get the sequel.

IS IT MAY YET?

...NOW?

...NOW MAYBE?

PLEASE CAN IT BE MAY RIGHT THIS SECOND?
...I would actually catch fire. No May right now. Please.

I'm thrilled.
it is an awesome cover, and it's so right.
YES! Exactly.
If I had been still in doubt about whether I'd wanted to read it, given I'm no fan of horror, either the cover or the artist description would've made up my mind to "Yes, I want to read it". With both? Dude, I wanna read it!! :)

Excellent cover, this!
Hooray!

I am so thrilled to hear you say that.
SQUEE!!! I want to read this book SO MUCH!

And I just now got the fact that the title refers to RSS feeds as well as zombie nomming. Sometimes, I'm slow.
That's okay! That makes it a nice surprise.
It looks cool, is very appropriate to what we've heard about the book and is witty as well.
Glee.
That is a great cover. It would make great computer wallpaper. :)

Merry
It just makes me so damn happy.
Oh, that is so awesome. Another "don't usually do horror, but I will be picking this up as soon as it hits."

Squee!
Yes, me too (and note that Amazon have it on pre-order -- at least the UK one has so I expect the US one has as well).

cooool. even cooler, this book gets to be a birthday present for me :)
Oh, awesome.
I just thought why I might not have been able to find it listed on Amazon UK, and I was right. It helps if I search under "Mira Grant" not your real name (and appears as the first entry if I do that). Now pre-ordered...

(If they manage to get it to me a week or so before it's released, like they did with R&R, I'll be happy...)
Yeah, you do have to look under the person listed as the author. ;)
Congrats to the perfect storm of a writer. I am so happy for you!
Thank you!
Excellent cover.
Thank you!
Awesome cover. Congrats!
I'm so thrilled.
I absolutely cannot watch zombie movies, but I love them in print form. And that cover is epic win. The bloody RSS feed symbol, when I saw it on the Orbit blog, made me go 'hey, that's cool, what is it about?'. Definitely the definition of success for a cover.

(and reading the description made me think Cory Doctorow's 'When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth' with zombies, which is totally cool in itself)
That is a fantastic short story, and a "this made me think of" that I'm thrilled to take. The cover just couldn't be more awesome.
Cover: Soooo creepy!
YES YAY!
The question is, do zombies Feed via RSS?
Nooooooooot quite. They aren't cyber-zombies, they're just in a sci-fi world.
Does this meet with your approval?
Lovely!
