Things about which I am excited this week.

1) The new Kelley Armstrong comes out tomorrow! Frostbitten [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy] is the tenth book in her Women of the Otherworld series, and the fourth (!) to feature Clayton and Elena. Now, Elena's not my favorite narrator—that honor is reserved for Paige, with Jaime coming in a close second—but her books are always exciting reads, and Armstrong definitely knows how to tell a story. I'm super-excited (and not just because she gave me a kick-ass cover blurb).

2) Oh, wow! Is it finally time for the major publisher hardcover edition of David Wong's John Dies at the End [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy]?! It so totally is! John Dies at the End started as an Internet serial, became a limited-run paperback from Permuted Press, and is now a glorious hardcover packed with horror, comedy, excitement, and the dreaded soy sauce. I love this book. Now you can actually own it. You're so lucky.

3) Dexter is back! Glorious, glorious, amazing Dexter. Michael C. Hall, how you fulfill me.

4) Actually, while I'm talking TV, here are all the other shows I follow that are back on the air (presented in alphabetical order, for the sake of my sanity): America's Next Top Model, Big Bang Theory, Bones, Castle, Fringe, Glee, NCIS, Numb3rs, So You Think You Can Dance, and Supernatural. Basically, I am awash in televised goodness.

5) Whip It comes out on Friday. I have to say, there is no bad in a world that can combine Ellen Paige with roller derby. No bad at all. Hopefully, it'll take the nasty taste of the recent Fame remake out of my mouth.

So that's what I'm excited about this week. What are you excited about?

Anthony Michael Hall, how you fulfill me.
Er, you mean Michael C. Hall, my dear. Hee.

John Dies at the End sounds pretty great. But, geez, SPOILER WARNING.
You're right. I mean, they both fulfill me, but you're still totally right.

What's great about John Dies at the End is that it's so much fun the spoiler in the title doesn't matter.

I'm most excited about the plan for how the week ends, which has me being a guest at Con*Cept. This gives me a good chance of meeting Kelley Armstrong, who is one of their author guests.
Oh, fantastic! I'm so envious now!

AWESOME!
Maybe you were waiting to be excited another day regarding:

Or is this simply a vicious rumor?
This is not a vicious rumor! I'll be there, and probably reading something super-exciting! It's just not something to be excited about today, as that's the scary, scary future.
NCIS and NCIS-LA (the spinoff series from the end of last season). Which, going by the first episode, is not bad (I wasn't sure from the crossover start last season, but then I wasn't at all sure about NCIS spinning off from JAG at its start either, I suspect that I just am not very keen on the sort of episodes which start spinoffs, they tend in my experience to be not so good from the parent series and haven't got into the child series yet).

And I hear that in a couple of weeks the new Sarah Jane Adventures will be starting on BBC.
I can't handle any more series right now. My cup already runneth over. But Alex is watching and cries awesome.

What are you excited about?

I'm going to see sooj on Saturday! (although I'm terribly jealous of those who get to see both her AND Tom Smith in Ann Arbor the night before)
Funny you should ask. I just posted about the TV season a couple of hours ago. :)

The most exciting thing on the horizon, by far, is this Friday's local house concert by filkertom and s00j.

I loved the trailer for Whip It, and the reviews so far are good. I'll probably catch it. (I like reviews. They help me avoid things like the Fame remake. And point me to things like Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, which was far, far better than the trailer led me to believe.) The next movie I'm truly excited about is Where The Wild Things Are.

Tonight is my monthly book club meeting, where I'll be trying to get Rosemary and Rue on the schedule. Sadly, this month's book is the first one I've been unable to finish, One Day On Mars by Travis Taylor. Next month is Nation by Terry Pratchett, so that can't help but be a whole lot better.
I like book clubs. If your book club chooses to do Rosemary, let me know and I'll send you some bookmarks.

Frostbitten is super-excitement at my house. First, because I *loves* me some Kelley Armstrong books, but secondly, because the kidlet is now living in Anchorage, where the book is set, so she's feeling like she's got a front row seat. :-)

I'm excited for nearly all the same television as you, but I've added FlashForward to my list after watching the premier on Hulu. Good stuff!
I really can't handle any more television this season. But wow the books!
I love NCIS! Haven't had time to catch NCIS-LA on On Demand yet. I loved the premiere episode. Michael Weatherly plays the wiseass so well. :)
I love Abbie and McGee. Theirloveissogeeky.

That you promised me Froatbitren when you finish it. :)
True enough!
ANTM is one I always follow. But "smise?" Really?

Glee is full of win.

Modern Family is HILARIOUS. Wednesday is a fantastic night for TV this season.
Do you follow FourFour's reviews of the episodes? They're so worth it.

I'm excited because I'll be joining my very first full-fledged D&D campaign this week! Character-rolling tomorrow!!!
Oh, awesome! Have fun!
Yesterday kind of pegged the crap-o-meter. The BF was laid off, and had only been working part time as it was, so the financial blow is annoying. And one of the family cats, Tigger, died (as in one of Mom's, not one of mine). We'd had her a looong time. We think she was 20ish. Dilute tortie, skittish, spent most of her life living in the laundry room by her choice (hence the nickname Dryer Cat), but as long as she was in her laundry room, happy and talkative (with a trilling purr-meow). She was still happy and seeking lovings over the weekend, just passed yesterday morning. A good run. But still sad.
Oh, honey, I'm sorry. :( It always sucks so bad to lose one of the family, and so many people don't understand that's exactly what that is. I'll hug my girls for you.

I'm excited about our local traditional folk music society's retreat coming up this weekend. I'm co-running theme circles on Parodies and Vile Fluids.

Also, I realized it's been a while since I offered up a "let's see if I can sing something so bizarre they revoke my membership and throw me out" song at one of their events. So I'm gonna sing "Wreck of the Crash..." in their big evening concert. Muahahaha!
Good luck getting banned!
