Reminder: Party tonight in Santa Clara!

Hey, guys, remember, tonight is the first Rosemary and Rue [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxies] book release party. We'll be at Illusive Comics in Santa Clara, California, starting at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.

Illusive Comics is an awesome mix of comic books, games, and genre fiction, run by the intrepid and delightful Anna Warren, who is presently enormously pregnant. We'll have cake, snakes, and a rare California appearance by Kitten Sundae, one of the most kickin'-cool bands to hail from the Pacific Northwest. Come for the book, stay for the live music, the cool company, and the opportunity to walk away with a "no shit, there I was" story of your very own.

Mia of chimera_fancies will also be in attendance, and the shinies she has with her are the sort you have to see to believe. Plus you can meet my mom, and see just how serious I really am (very).

Hope you can be there!

Today on Stupid Questions Theater: is Albany anywhere near Manhattan?
Asking where Albany is in relation to Manhattan when you're from California doesn't make it onto Stupid Questions Theater, so no need to buy your plane ticket to make an appearance just yet.

What qualifies you for SQT is saying, when told by someone they're from New York, "So you're not used to winter, are you?". I got that a lot when I moved to Lansing, Michigan for school and people asked where I was from. I took great joy in telling people where I'd been living in NY, getting 18" of snow overnight was common enough it didn't close school for the day, only delayed opening an hour or two. "Oh, so you're used to winter." Yeah, idiot, I am. Most of NYS doesn't get winter as brutal as 18" overnight but 6" overnight? We can deal with that and it doesn't qualify as a big enough deal to deserve a front page headline in Big Lettering, which is more than I can say for Lansing, MI. Wussies.
