ROSEMARY AND RUE giveaway #6!

It's July, it's a week to the San Diego International Comic Convention, and it's been a while since I posted a Rosemary and Rue ARC giveaway. These things aren't intrinsically connected, but my need for distraction makes them acquire a natural bond. At the same time, I feel the need to be more creative than my exhaustion is presently allowing. So here's the deal:

1) To participate, comment on this post with a suggestion for what the next ARC giveaway should be. Get creative! We've had a poetry contest and a LOLtest so far—is it time for round two? Is it time for a break-dance competition? "Conquer a nation, win an ARC"? Well, maybe not that last one. Try to make it something that people can actually accomplish.

2) Weigh in on other suggestions, if you feel the urge to do so.

3) Just before I leave for Comicon, I will select one of the suggestions to be ARC giveaway #7. The person who makes the winning suggestion will be the winner of this giveaway.

Youtube fan videos! Make a video about why you like Seanan's music, what you are doing while you impatiently wait for the release of ROSEMARY AND RUE, or why Seanan should be named Queen of the Zombie Apocalypse. Post it to Youtube and link it back to Seanan's journal to be entered for an ARC.

That's my suggestion.

Make a Toby doll, photograph it, judge based on the photos?

Sing a song to Toby (or Seanan), and have it clear in the song/recording that it's to Toby (or Seanan). Post to YouTube.

For those lacking (decent) video editing tools, Audacity can be used to record audio, and a still image can be used for the video. In Windows, Windows Movie Maker can be used to slap'em together. I don't know the Mac video editor, but I know the Mac OS comes with one. For everyone else, I can't make any suggestions.

Design the activities to earn a "Seanan McGuire"/filk/watches horror movies/kumquat Grownies1 scout badge.

1. You know how, as kids, you had the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts? Now shaysdays is designing badges for the Grown-Up Scouts. Because some of us have an inherent urge to earn badges.

Creation of icons / banners / etc. for Rosemary & Rue.

You get free advertising material or selection of more icons for your collection (cause even the non-winners stuff can be useful to the other fans / can be used as long as you write that up front), someone gets an ARC, everyone gets happy!

I'd suggest a silly walks contest, but anyone without the ability to film himself/herself and upload to YouTube would be left out. :-(

Hmm. Viral? Post in a blog, website, or social networking site about Rosemary and Rue, and link to it from here. Best (non-creepy) plug gets the ARC.

Youtube is cool, if a lot of work (but then, you get lolcats, so hey, might be worthwhile.

Also, the anagram idea is kinda neat!

Otherwise, riffing off another idea above, what about contestants filling in a blank FLT strip?

I'd suggest a photography contest. Photographs inspired by Toby and her world with a minimum of editing to be judged by an online poll and the winner gets the copy? Yes, this is because I own a camera and am crap at videos.
