Marvelous, magnificent, Marcon!

Well, the cat's out of the bag, and I can now gleefully announce that next Memorial Day Weekend, I'll be in Columbus, Ohio, serving as the Music Guest of Honor at Marcon! (I was waiting to say anything until it was public knowledge. As it was printed on the back of the program books, it's public knowledge.) The full guest slate is as follows:

Author Guest of Honor: Wen Spencer.
Artist Guest of Honor: Billy Tackett.
Science Guest of Honor: Central Ohio Paranormal Society.
Costuming Guest of Honor: Tom Saveny.
Music Guest of Honor: Seanan McGuire.

So...Billy Tackett, who draws some of the best zombies in the business, the Central Ohio Paranormal Society, and me. I'm not familiar with the works of Wen Spencer or Tom Saveny, but I can already tell that we're going to have a pretty high "dead things" level at this convention. Somehow, this fails to bother me in any meaningful way.

Marcon!

It's gonna be a party.

Yay you :)
Thanks!
Guess who the now happy sound guy for Marcon is...
and teaches me to not look at the program book...

I strongly suspect from context that that's actually Tom Savini, whose work you may recognize.
...are you serious?!

TOM SAVINI?! I GET TO BE IN A HOTEL WITH TOM SAVINI?!

*dies*
*is dead*
Congratulations! Sounds like a match made in heaven! (Or at least archetypal zombie overrun mall... :D)
It's going to be so much fun.
Yay you!
ZOMBIE CON IS GO!

Huzzah!
Glee.
Outstanding! Marcon is one of my regular cons. (Here's my brand-new con report.)
Yay! I get to see you!
When I saw the theme was going to be Zombies, I was hoping that they'd get you! I'm always a costume panelist there and it's a great time.
I didn't realize that was the theme until just now. So happy!

Sweet!

So what are you going to do in a few years when you get conflicting invites to be both music and author GoH? Are you up for pulling double-duty? :-)
Oh, I can pull double-duty at the same convention, and generally do (since I do author panels and give concerts). I couldn't do two conventions in the same weekend. I would die.

Thank you! Glee.
Coolness!!

I didn't make it to Marcon this year but little did I know it was all because there was going to be an even better reason to go next year :).
And there you go!
Congratulations :)
Thank you!
I saw your name on the back of this year's program and squee'd muchly. :D

Will look forward to next year intently! :D
I'm really thrilled. I've never been to Marcon before!

Hot damn!
Will you be my magic guitar buddy?
I usually do ASL for the filk GOH - Can I sign for your concert? Please? Please?

Wen Spencer has two series I think you'd enjoy greatly, as well as a couple of singleton novels.
One series has a crossover of "our" world with that of a Fae world, set in Pittsburgh. First novel: Tinker.
The other series is creepy kewl, whose first book is called Alien Taste, about a feral boy turned investigator who learns a great deal about his mysterious abilities.
I liked "A Brother's Price." It was weird, but a really interesting and well thought out premise. I also enjoyed "Tinker," but I haven't read "Wolf who Rules" yet. Didn't care for the "Alien Taste" ones.
